Hol v BBS rivalry???? (LOCKED)

There's a guy on BBS called 'ExiledStirling'. So basically the Stirlings get to pontificate on both boards. There's a balance to the world.

From my limited time on there I like the detailed aspect of the interface. That said there are so many forums that I imagine it's easy to get kind of lost amongst threads. It's more left wing dominated than Hol.....So...perhaps politically that's a good thing....a yin to our yang....with us definitely being the yang.

I wouldn't say there's a rivalry. Mainly people stick to the interface they're most comfortable with. It's a little tasty at the moment with a few defectors using the BBS to criticise HOL but that will die down in a week or two once Citizen Smith has ignored all the HOL 'Cowards' who took him up on his offer to post on there. They seem to have quite a decent bunch on there and seem a bit more forthright in their banter - I dipped in this week and liked it.

Many clubs don't even have one as good. The vast majority of users tend to use one or the other according to personal preference - prefer the interface, know more people on one, found one first, whatever. There is no rivalry between these people because no one cares that there's another Palace site they don't use much. A few people use both. There is no rivalry between these people as they like both. Some people are banned, sometimes repeatedly, and have grudges either against mods or posters on the messageboard they're banned from. Sometimes making laughably transparent comments about the supposed flaws of whichever one they got the boot from. But this isn't any kind of rivalry. It's just individuals with a grudge.

It's true that most other clubs' fan sites that I've seen are s***e. A lot of them do nothing but slag off their players and managers and most of them call us "Palarse". I prefer it when they call us "Crystal F***ing Palace" because usually it means we've done something to piss them off. Edited by chateauferret (14 Jan 2018 8.15pm)
