Because I couldn't find anything......that's because it isn't there.

The Queens Regulations for the Army (1975) para J5.581 states:
 Regular personnel are not to take any active part in the affairs of any political organisation, party, or movement.
EDL, Britain first are definitely barred.
You are being pedantic re criminal convictions, of course minor spent convictions don’t bar you but those that show you are of questionable character will without a shadow of a doubt.

Eagleman I never said anyone with any criminal record would not be able to enlist. I said TR wouldn’t because of his, I think it would be highly doubtful.

More worryingly, is 'Soldier X' being dismissed because he was pictured(with other young recruits) in a video with TR.

There is nothing saying you can't join a political party plus you can attend political meetings just as long as you aren't representing the Army.....as in wearing a uniform.
