He either wants a pay rise or a move. I'd offer him a rise and tell him that he will not be sold unless our price is met. Wilf with 4 years on his contract, in his prime and with a hefty sell on clause must be worth in the region of 100 million. That is what I would be looking for for the next two years. If the board has any balls, they will think the same.

Mr Zaha needs to understand that when you sign a 5 year contract that makes you very rich, then you have to honour it.
He either wants a pay rise or a move. I'd offer him a rise and tell him that he will not be sold unless our price is met.
Wilf with 4 years on his contract, in his prime and with a hefty sell on clause must be worth in the region of 100 million.
That is what I would be looking for for the next two years. If the board has any balls, they will think the same.

I wouldn't, he's already banking more than he'd probably get elsewhere & pretty sure in a bigger pond his guaranteed start would not be so guaranteed. Understand his ambition & I'd be sad to see him leave but, there's others out there, let him go & lets all move on.

Maybe there was 'an understanding' between the two parties when he signed as he could easily have run down his previous contract and then what, would you have been happy that he walked for nothing but at least he honoured his contract?
