We move on.

All aboard the cpfc rollercoaster , scream if you wanna go faster, might be downhill for a bit.

Glad you aren't making the decisions.

I can't believe selling Zaha this season is even on the table.
We have no pressure to sell but we will have a lot of pressure to sell all our stars if we get relegated.
Selling Zaha will pretty much guarantee that happens.

Crystal Palace is the club...a location....a history.

That doesn't mean that Zaha shouldn't be considered special to us....because in a sense he is, coming from our academy and being treated so well......Well until he does a 'Wright' and celebrates scoring a goal in front of us that is......Let's hope he doesn't spoil it like that.

I think Alain Saint Maximin is like Wilf was two or three years ago so if we got him I think bearing in mind he’s 22 it’s a win win situation... plus we can get a couple of other players we need... ie a Full Back plus a midfielder.....

There are many clubs in the Prem that perform very well and dont have Wilf in their ranks. Also people forget in our 1st season back we survived very comfortably without him. We have to move on, he is not going to be here forever

As someone else mentioned earlier, there is absolutely no substance to this vague journalism. Where are Zaha’s quotes saying he is unhappy and/or wants to leave? Anyone can start obvious rumours like this.

I just worry that we won’t replace him, our recruitment has been piss poor as of late and very little time in the window.

Yes, life goes on and I’m sure we would adapt in time if we lose Zaha.
However, to,lose both him and AWB means we lose our pace in defence and attack.
When you add our pedestrian midfield as well we would be seriously lacking in pace throughout the side.
By his own admission injuries have taken a toll on Townsend’s speed.
And no, Jenkinson and Ayew would not be adequate replacements.

I’m pretty sure when Wilf signed a 5 year deal it benefits both parties, he gets a bigger wad of cash and his transfer value increases. Just surprised there is no formal release clause if a valuation is hit written in.

Wilf got the pay rise and extension in his new contract to take out his previous buy out clause. Wilf knew that this means he will not be sold until the clubs valuation is met. If he wants to go then he should put in a transfer request. The club should then make their sale price quite clear and £80 million is not unreasonable. If Arsenal want to offer that either in cash or cash plus players we want then he can go. We do not want the rejects that have been suggested. There are players at Arsenal who are fringe players who would increase squad depth Maitland-Niles,Iwobi, Holding, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah. If 3 of these plus £40 million was offered that may be good business.

In Short unless we get what we want we should not sell and he should stay and fulfil his contract

40 plus 3 looks good and possibly increases our strengths.
Niles,iwobi,Nelson.
Tasty prospect.

If he has said he wants to leave has he put in a transfer request ?

Personally I think he wants to go....far to much smoke not to be any fire.

Let’s get the most we can for him and move on as quickly as possible.
