Chances are if Wardy hadn't got injured and was still first choice RB we would have no idea whether AWB would make it at prem level. You make these calls when forced upon you which is what happened in that case. We have the same issue now regarding a decent striker...or lack thereof. Unless we stick Wilf and Andros up top then I can't see why we can't give Daly a bash...what do we have to lose ? If Roy makes it clear to him that if it doesn't work out he's still in his plans so he's not under too much pressure then I for one would love to see it. If he's pants...he's pants...but it would be nice to find out.

I agree that this is a situation where we really have nothing to lose by trying a young striker, but it's important to remember that a striker has a huge amount of responsibility in a match, particularly in terms of hold-up play. It may be that our young strikers aren't judged to be physically or mentally capable of starting in that position in the PL, and it could be really damaging to their confidence if it goes wrong.

I'll tell you what I would like to see - a young striker on the bench instead of Alexander 'Oh, do I have to play football now?' Sorloth

I tell you what I'd like to see & that's a striker ON the pitch that can score. What 1st team striker has scored this season in the league?

Last night, at least 3 of our strikers scored a goal who are on our 'books'. YES, it was against lower league oppo, But, they SCORED! Why are we already discounting our players before they've even been given a chance, or is a mythical £30-£50m player going to be the answer?

Just a reminder we are 7 points better off then last season. We are not in crisis mode. I am not discounting Daly at all, I am just saying based on last performance, it's a bit early to start saying let's play him. If he had a MOM performance and scored a hatful, then fair play. He didn't, he scored an open goal.

I think the reason we are not scoring is tactical. Ayew will score with right support.

Im fully aware of the amount of points we have & WHY does Daly have to have a MOM game & score a 'min' hattrick just to get a 'chance' of even making it to the subs bench?

As for we're not scoring is 'tactical' . . . REALLY?

Let's see how that stacks up after the next 5 games. Highly likely we'll still be on 7 point because we CAN'T score !!!

He aint.

Ayew, is another Frazier Campbell, but at least FC could score goals. Ayew gets & creates good positions & then, that's it(imo)

Haven’t seen the goal but sounds like he got himself in a goal scoring position and scored. It’s what good strikers do. A goal is a goal, doesn’t matter how it goes in. Can’t be worse than Ayew. He’ll be hungry for it if given a run.
