They are reporting what the Police have said.

Just because an MP, and observers, have suggested the attacker had mental health problems doesn't mean he had, and it would be irresponsible reporting at this stage to say so. It's the sort of thing that the Mail would include, to try to excuse the behaviour. And, of course, has!

If he had a health problem I have no doubt that will be covered at the appropriate time. Which would be when a professional clinician who had diagnosed him has said said so. Until then it's tittle tattle being offered as an excuse.

The Muslim that killed those gay men in reading was stated as having mental health issues. Not the fact that he believed what his Dopey book said about gays deserving to be killed. When the cap fits I guess!

I see that the BBC report on the fire bombing at Dover seems to have been updated to include this:-

"Tim Jacques, senior national co-ordinator for counter terrorism policing, said: "After considering the evidence collected so far, whilst there are strong indications that mental health was likely a factor, I am satisfied that the suspect's actions were primarily driven by an extremist ideology."

Which has been quoted by the BBC, and not ignored!

It is also a carefully worded statement by the police.

After the headline claim it was driven by right wing ideology which doesn't happen in cases of machete or bomb outrages.

The BBC and the trial judge both described those murders as a terror attack and that he was only pretending to have mental health issues.
The only difference here is that at least that far right nut job who firebombed the centre had the decency to top himself.

Which is your opinion, other opinions are available.

I noticed a BBC report today "French Far Right Has New leader to Replace Le Pen."

I have seen this "French Far Right Party" on many occasions and I just skipped over it until today.

1. Does the National Front Party recognise this term? Do they consider themselves Far Right? If so fair enough, however:

2. If the BBC is happy to pigeon hole them as far right I don't remember them ever saying "The Cuban or Venezuelan Hard Left Government" so where is the partiality in that.

The headline is taken directly from the police statement and is an accurate description of their conclusions. You cannot include everything in a headline!

You would have to specifically reference how other incidents were reported for any comparisons to be made.

Stated by whom and with what evidence?

From memory only, I think it was his lawyers trying to find a way to minimise and soften his sentence. That's their job.

Quite obviously. Some the polar opposite of yours.

Which is why the BBC are thought by me to usually get things more right than wrong,

Oh so that’s ok then. 52% right and 48% wrong. Seems like a decent figure !

Dearth means lack of something or scarce?

Do you mean the opposite?

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Only if you think all those who voted leave also disapprove of the BBC.

Which doesn’t appear very likely to me.

It was replying to your bbc reports being more right than wrong. Not who does or doesn’t like the bbc.
