Our young players may not be good enough but it is pretty damning on the development at the club that we have just one player, Brandon Pierrick, who has appeared in the league for us this year who has been aged 21 or under. And he has appeared just once - as a late substitute

Man U have had 10 and Chelsea 11, respectively; and it's not as though they have not had points to fight for

Our team in the 'U18 Professional Development League' are 5th out of 10.
The U23s in the 'Professional Development League' are 9th out of 10.

And therein lies our problem as these two teams are competing against the U23s and U18s of mainly League 1 teams with a few Championship ones. In other words if they are not setting the world of the PDL on fire what hope is there that they can cope with those teams' first team squads never mind premier league ones?

In the recent SP interview it was significant that the chairman was looking at the U16s and below as the source of future first team talent and we're going to have to wait several years for that to materialize. Meanwhile, as I've said elsewhere, we can expect to be signing more 'Scott Bankses' and hoping that some of them will come good.

I'm therefore, in the camp that says let's get as high up the league as we can this season as take the money.

Danny Murphy on motd last night said he told his squad at Fulham he wanted them to aim for zero goal difference or better.

The downsides to this are that itís a tough watch, games can be decided, predicted early on or written off and it could prove difficult to sign attacking or flair players. Look at Benteke and zaha. Both depreciated in value. Many will say thatís a cost to staying in the Prem and I see the viewpoint and understand that there are costs and conflicting issues like in many businesses, but how long can that football strategy that can depreciate the clubís highest value players give the club the financial edge our size of club needs? AWB is a one off, unless our transfer profit is going to come from progressing defensively minded players.

The irony isnít lost on me of Parish saying before hiring FDB Ďíwe must move away from counting on the lucky bounce of the ball as weíve done in our history and create those definite chances ourselves because that is more....íí sustainable long term or something.

Now I fully understand why Roy has been hired on a business decision but it isnít issue free but really the point is that even roy said yesterday after the Watford win that we could easily be 9 points worse off. It could actually be even more if you took away Guaitaís excellent form and us not winning the last 3 games that couldíve been 4 or 5 points. But thatís where Iíll make my main criticism. Weíve forced these 9 points more by being less passive than weíve been for 6 months. I expect someone to say ive contradicted myself regarding the last 3 wins but Iím saying that our chances of that happening have a higher probability than watching whoever knock it about like brazil while we watch and rely on blocks or Guaita.

Finally there isnít much synergy within the higher levels of the club. I have stressed issues I think have come about because of whichever of the 3 (Roy, Freedman, Parish). Meyer the German Messi I think Parish signed and had him pose for photos on the rooftop in the hope heíd be that flair player we coined it in with.

Roy is fine regarding our percentage chances of surviving each season but the issues Iíve raised are things I hope those at the top are discussing between themselves. We need some good transfer windows.

Benteke is worth virtually nothing now. We couldnít give him away. Strikers will always be worth money if they score. The football tactics have had an effect on Benteke. Not all, but the tactics have. He was fine until Allardyce left and since itís gone wrong.

Your theory of valuation is incredibly naive. Try selling your house for 100% more than what anyone anywhere will pay for it. That will not be the value of your house but your fantasy, same for Zaha.

My points on pur transfers was that weíre not signing any flair or creative players and might struggle to with our tactics, or the ones we have havenít featured/been successful or again donít fit in with the tactics. Danny Murphy paid out what Roy was all about several times when Roy joined Palace what Roy does and Roy likes but what Iím saying is itís not all without underlying issues and problems to surface n future.

Roy has achieved above and beyond the target in the end this season but it doesnít come without things to consider for Parish and Freedman with Roy, if they do or can tolerate each other for long enough.

Do not forget Benteke had been carrying a nasty knee injury for quite some time before he had his opp and he has had numerous opportunities to score since ..as much as two in every game, composure is difficult especially if you're worrying about injuring your knee again, I feel he has been given the right amount of encouragement by Hodgson throughout the time he has been manager and also I feel Benteke is actually at the moment starting to appear much more confident and hugely more alert, it is quite possible that the injury he suffered (and nobody knows exactly how long he had put up with it) is the real culprit for his failings in front of goal, lets just all see if he can actually do it before the season ends, I think he can.

And do you know how many of the top talent they hoover up between them?
And how many in their academies don't go on to play for them?

Probably quite a lot but is their overall record worse than ours which is quite poor

CPFC_NEWS_HQ is just another recycler of rumours and guesswork. I watched Roy being interviewed by the BBC on Saturday and he was very evasive about any promises of a transfer pot
