Encouraged to persist with their blockading of key sites and streets, causing major disruption which of course is their aim.

Over 1,000 arrests back in April. They refer to themselves as "non-violent civil disobedience activist movement".They are just agitators out to disrupt life in the cities by their dastardly behaviour.

Causing so much more pollution too by holding up traffic.

I suggest that when convicted the magistrates should also confiscate their passports for a couple of years. They wont complain I mean it's not like Tarquin and Jemima summer in Tuscany and go skiing in the Alps do they?

Surely these people don’t go on planes, as they are concerned about their carbon footprints. I thought they all went on cycling holidays in this country.

Initially I hated these.
But they have put climate change further up the agenda.
They now just have to make sure they don't piss people off

I believe that the Conservatives are committed to sensible, practical policies to protect every aspect of the environment, without destroying the British economy.

In actual fact Margaret Thatcher took climate change seriously before many of these darned Extinction Rebellion protesters were born.

Makes my darned blood boil just thinking about these grandstanding reprobates causing disruption in London. Many are just brass-plated hypocrites, curs, and walking trivialities.

I have spouted enough on this subject, will leave the debate to others.Don't wish to cause bouts of hypertension!

Thatcher certainly stopped us mining for coal and destroyed Britain's industry in the north and midlands. Not entirely sure it was for environmental reasons though.

Only because it wasn't economic - I remember it well.

I'd have thought that you'd like these people Willo. They seem to spend a lot of their time sitting down which, as I recall, is behaviour about which you thoroughly approve in a crowded environment.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

It's virtue signalling of the highest order.

They can't get the votes and are not prepared to put in the hard work to gather the political support.

There are plenty of practical campaigns they could start to make their point e.g. highlight companies using too much plastic, start a tree planting campaign, start a walk to school campaign, pick up some litter (how much will they leave when they go?)

They would rather have a party at our expense.

It's not the cause I hate just these people according to the report tonight it's more like a festival only problem is that it still inconveniences the public, they could have held it in Hyde Park.

How many of these people will go on abroad for holiday?

My Yoga teacher is one of them and she is organising a retreat in Costa Rica not sure how she justifies that.

All been done and makes no difference.

Similarly, it’s fairly obvious a protest in Hyde Park has nowhere near the impact. The disruption caused is kind of the point...

Again; their protest is to policy makers, not individuals.

There was an Extinction Rebellion chappie on The Daily Politics today who pulled up his sleeve to show the words "Poppy" and "Rosie" on his arm written in what looked like red lipstick and said they were his nieces and it was for them that he was demonstrating.

I smiled when he was asked how old they were and replied that one was about 10 and the other was a teenager which implied to me that he didn't really know

And a couple of years later imported coal cost a lot more than our own. But at least she told off the northerners and the Welsh for following the wrong political party. A true champion of the environment was Thatcher - if you call the City of London the environment.
