Surely he had to self isolate first!!

Real Madrid haven't had to, coming from the 2nd worse area in Spain, wonder why that is?

Looks like the deal still not over the line? Some kind of improved offer and more realistic add-ons needed?

It’s disappointing if we have been barking up the wrong tree .But values have to lower with the Covid effect. I honestly think the Championship players we seem interested in are over valued. And in the case of Eze, no one other than the Spam, , get a mention..
They have to be though ,they always are , report correct or not.

I still think Palace are in the race. A lot of hard bargaining, but it's a dangerous game, and it would be disastrous if WetSpam snaffled him

I do hope we can pull it off. It'll be sickening if West Ham swoop in however that said it's more important to stick to what we can afford.

In the past when we've not stuck to this ie Benteke and Sakho it's come back to haunt us. Those dealings are (fees and wages) largely the reason we've been looking in the bargain bin the last few years.

So an interesting merry-go-round beginning to emerge. (Or lovers triangle).

Lots of reports West Ham have to sell before they can buy. Have been trying to offload Anderson and Lanzini for example but no luck so far as they are on 6 figure sum wages.

Chelsea have also said they want to sell to raise funds. Maybe letting a collection of fringe players and players who had previously been out on loan go for permanent deals.

Chelsea are now reported to want to sign Declan Rice for 65mill. That will give West Ham the funds they need to get Eze. The clock is now ticking. If we can't get the Eze deal over the line before the Rice deal goes through West Ham can put bids in.

It is not certain atm if Chelsea have the funds on hand for the Rice deal or if they have to sell first. Ironically if Palace go for one of Chelsea fringe players as many have suggested (Gallagher, Bats etc) then we may feed the dominoe effect which ends up with us having created the situation where we have competition for Eze.

Good Post.
It's interesting how little Prem activity there's been so far. I suspect a lot of teams have financial issues (and many worse than us - see 'The Athletic' article posted elsewhere on this site) as they reflect on lost matchday income, which isn't going to reappear in any meaningful way for months. As one of the teams with the smallest matchday incomes we won't be as badly affected as the majority.
As for the Championship players purportedly in demand, will it be a case of who blinks first, their clubs or the EPL clubs wanting to buy?
An interesting few weeks ahead.
