Impeachment ? unlikely

Charges for incitement to riot ? far fetched

Dereliction of duty ? maybe

Financial irregularities are very likely,..

The most dishonourable person to take the office, and yet he was voted in by the USA public.

I want to hear more of what Stormy Daniels has to say,.. I bet he has a tiny c000ck, to match his brain size

The more important immediate problem is how to restrain him in these coming days.

Hopefully the military already have contingency plans in place to avoid him doing anything really stupid.

Whether his staff also now decide to refuse to accept any extreme demands might be an option.

The 25th amendment is apparently now being considered. Not before time in my view. I guess once all the ducks were lined up that could produce a very swift result which would be better done if Trump's social media accounts remained silent or, even better, if he were to be taken into some kind of protective custody. The danger, of course, is turning him from a villain into a martyr.

Where are the pictures of the four dead and the violent riots in each of their cities/states?
Were they dangerous criminals who needed shooting?

So some unarmed protesters making a point about election fraud are outright terrorists. They broke some windows and kicked down a few doors.
I guess the BLM people who burned entire high streets and besieged cities are heroes.
The rhetoric from the press has gone from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Only nutters would see these burning down buildings or looting as heroes. I only ever saw those acts comdemned on here. On one level you yourself must see the description of 'they broke some windows' as ludicrous. People died, and elected politicians even those who supported Trump all the way were cowering in fear as people, several armed, tried to get to them. From happens in the seat of power happens.

Taking like for like, realistically if it had been BLM or the like storming the building yesterday there would no zero circumspect 'its only..' anything on here. It would be a way to crowbar in endless racial comments. And there would be bodies galore on the scene.

I don't know how the other three died but you certainly make salient points.....I saw an initial distinct lack of curiously from the media that is certainly a deep contrast to other events we could mention.

So Biden wins. Congratulations to you lefties.

Let the bombing of third world villages begin all over again. What do you fancy first? Some full blown regime change or perhaps a cheeky little Drone strike on a wedding party?

The main plus about Trump is that he wasn't a war mongerer or interventionist. That said the US has a history of being just that, and it's certainly not the pursuit on one party. There is no more concern about Biden going to war, than any random future republican leader.

Hence why I said 'normality' returns. But please, when the bombing does start, lets not bore us all with how much you dislike it when it is patently clear that you would rather have a President in charge who does happily order it all.

The US had an economy that was booming, employment amongst a variety of non-white communities at a record level and was pursuing a non-interventionist foreign policy.

Then comes Covid and gaming the system.

What for? What do you think Biden is going to do better than Trump?

Well, they would have to certainly go against the modern culture of the republican party which is very different from Bush's days and quite isolationist.

Trump reflected that.....indeed, he received a lot of criticism from his base for bombing that Syrian airfield and even assassinating that Iranian general.

Perhaps this view is because you perpetually view the future world as coffee coloured.

Seriously the discussion about race
isn't really behind what's happening and as such it isn't really appropriate to talk about here.

This is about the GOP and conservatism and its direction. What is happening here is also simultaneously happening on the Democratic side as well....just not with as much drama.

You raised the racial element with the BLM comparisons. You don't want to link this to being about race on account that it's vastly white people storming the building and terrorising elected officials. It's inconvenient.

Certainly there are fractures on the left too, I'm not denying that, or even that there are racial components to that. My point was that parties adjust their message based on the electorate and are no strangers to fine tuning their message. It would seem unlikely that we're going to have one party in power for decades. Parties will just broaden their appeal to the majority (as in the majority of the population, not a racial majority or plurality).

Trump is more political opportunist than Republican or Democrat really. Bush realistically was not even President that long ago, and was the most egregious war mongerer going, or rather was used by those around him to act as one. Without a dominating figure like Trump at the top table it will be interesting to see what kind of consensus develops within the party over time.

The same for democrats really. Winning the senate is of course politically advantageous, but it makes various factions of the party realise that there individual vote is extremely valuable. With the Georgia wins, it could be a case of careful what you wish for. Still, it's not as though gridlock is a good outcome either.

From the derisory reaction to the mob law on Capitol Hill by other world leaders, you would struggle to think the USA had any moral authority and democratic credibility anymore after this.

They will not be preached to in the name of 'freedom or 'democracy', on the contrary they see weakness and instability.

To them it must seem incredible that Trump is still there even now, they must be enjoying him dragging his country through the mire.
