Surely the bottom line is how many people die? How long it takes is less important than how many die within a time frame.

Any number of obese people are allowed to eat McDonalds or any other fast food seven days a week if they decide to. Alcoholics can go to the pub, diabetics can eat cake.

I should imagine the deaths from heart conditions created from these actions are huge every year....much higher than for a virus that mainly kills the already ill.

If the idea is that huge numbers of people are dying of something and that it must be tackled then questions on past policy are there to be asked.

Most of these are personal choices which the individual should be aware has consequences.

Catching COVID is not a personal choice so until all adults have been offered the jab there is a risk. Once this has been completed those that choose not to well it's on their head.

Yes,case numbers have been rising which was expected.
Despite the rise in cases, hospital admissions have been falling steadily.
The death numbers are greatly reduced.
Vaccines are working, so stop moving the darned goalposts and end restrictions as planned.

Why is the choice aspect that important? Especially when the elites decide to remove choice.

Surely what's important is the number of deaths....Well, that's what seemed to be important to them anyway.

I wasn't trying to bicker J.
I was putting a number on a reversal scenario. The point is if deaths reach 50 a day it would be a 100 then 200 and rising. Its exponential and will clearly mean something will need doing.
Personally I think we've got it done in the UK so imo the above is not going to happen but its good to talk

No I know that, I was merely saying in a roundabout way that do we wait until there are absolutely Zero cases.
It appears from my view that the vast majority of people have played by the rules Re Masks, Lock Downs, Jabs Etc.
How many more times can the government keep kicking the can down the street?
This Bulls*** has to stop,NOW!!

Maybe if people actually researched for themselves they would understand this situation.

And let's not call it a 'vaccine' it's not a 'vaccine' if you know your stuff you'd know this too.

Stop the madness, stop the fear mongering and live a life.

Quite. One thing Covid has done for me is highlight just how selfish some people are. All the measures aren’t designed to protect you as a person, it’s to protect other people and the wider population. If Covid was something that was purely down to your own behaviour as to whether you caught it or not and it did not impact others then people could do as they please. Some people still only see their own inconveniences and act like spoilt children. No one has enjoyed these restrictions but at least the vast majority understand they have been for the greater good.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that you can still infect others if you have had the vaccine.

The main benefit being that you as the individual have far less chance of dying.

It was my understanding that people are less likely to contract and also spread the virus if they are vaccinated. There's more data out there over time (especially from Israel and the like, but elsewhere too).

As for your other point, I certainly agree that deaths are the most important component, I was just highlighting that it being a virus, and due to how viruses tend to spread, it somewhat makes parallels to obesity, alcohol and the like ill fitting comparisons.

You can still carry the virus but all data so far suggests that you carry a lower viral load so is a much weaker version and people are less transmissible. So getting vaccinated protects yourself and others. No brainer.

So you can still transmit the virus, of which people can still die from it.....but you have far less chance of dying yourself.

Thanks for the clarification....and this is no criticism of those that take the vaccine.

But please, feel free to inform me of your next selfless act.

?

Bizarre. You carry a much weaker version of it so anything passed on will be much weaker. This is what vaccines do. It’s science. It’s remarkable.

This is how we get the herd immunity that you always wanted.

I take it you haven’t had the vaccine then?

Sure, I'm just looking at the deaths, independent of the means and querying as to whether how the government response to this is in any proportion to how they respond to other far larger mass killers.
