What gets me with this crises is that seemingly intelligent people actually think...actually think that an airborne virus's spread can be controlled by national policy.

For me it's incredulous.....you would need a highly socially cohesive society, something that this country hasn't been for many decades now. You'd need a society that essentially acted like ants....and even then it probably couldn't be done without significantly low people density and without massive economic impact.

All that has happened is that the virus did what it was going to do anyway and the hubris of people who should know better threw away a generation's wealth.

But hey, pointlessly finger point at others, but it won't make a blind bit of difference.

We’re almost 2 years in to this and you still don’t understand that the measures have only ever been taken to slow down the spread so that the health system isn’t overwhelmed and to allow for people to get vaccinated so that they have protection when they get it.

Anyone ‘seemingly intelligent’ understands this.

Look at the statistics that I posted earlier.

This didn't happen.

Your opinions just seem to be feed to you. It's like the money point I made the other day....You actually attacked something so obvious.

I can’t find any statistics you posted earlier.

All data shows that lockdowns massively slowed the spread with each wave. I honestly struggle with how you interpret data.

What a bunch of t***s. What on earth do they think they will achieve? I suppose though we ought to take some comfort in the fact, that so far anyway, they haven't stormed Parliament.

Can only see one black, and no Asian, faces. Mostly middle-aged men. Which fits the expected profile for this kind of thing. I know it's outside but not a mask anywhere and not too much social distancing, both of which make sense at this time.

Maybe they are all trying to catch Omicron now, so they can be sure of a ventilator if they need it. A month or so later, the NHS may be having to be forced to prioritise. I wonder on what basis that kind of decision would be made?

I know what it ought to be, but am sure it won't.

Is Maajid Nawaz brown enough for you, Jon Snow? I mean Truro Trolly?

If you’d been on a train or in a shop in south London at all you’d rethink your opinion. Covid scepticism is across all races. Well in fact ethnic minorities have a lower vaccine take up.

Here you go:

''Video footage shows what onlookers have described as 'extreme hostility' towards police from today's protesters, who can be seen swearing and chanting 'shame on you' at officers.''

The amusing thing is that almost inevitably this protest will prove to have been a super-spreader event, making a lock-down even more likely.

It was about 8 people planted there by journalists

Slow down?

The fear campaign significantly affected working staff numbers in all public services anyway.....hardly protecting the NHS.

It's like saying cutting yourself is good because it reduces blood pressure.

I honestly struggle how you’ve just posted that and come to the conclusion that you have done.

It’s mathematically illiterate to put it mildly.

You just say stuff that doesn't relate to the actual statistics.

Where is the evidence that lockdowns 'massively' did anything other than cost the next generation? The two peaks and declines are remarkably similar in speed and now that most are vaccinated hospitalizations are obviously going to reduce that third peak, which would have been lower regardless due to increased immunity.

The lockdown aspect isn't even that significant as the fear campaigns effectively had similar economic impacts in countries that didn't lock down to our extent.

You have just been a part of the hubris.

The original approach was the right one.

The evidence is literally right there in the data you posted. You have posted data against your own arguments.

Mental having this conversation.
