So according to a report by a health board or the like the death rate in Manchester is 25% higher because they are poorer. I call bullcrap. Imho ignorance is the cause. Living 15 to a house doesn't help and refusing the vaccine when offered because of some spurious rumours could or rather will have an impact.
Cause and effect is not always about dosh and how much you have or don't have.

100% agree. One of thee so called doctors proscribed my 1 year old grandson antibiotic without even seeing him. His mother took him to A&E in the end.

What are they shielding for if they won't see anyone?

Doctors had been doing this before this pandemic it's not a new thing.

This now gives them even more excuses to not have to deal with people face to face.

Doctors are now about disease management which you can do without even seeing a patient this is not only a UK thing (This is what happens when you are run by Pharmaceutical industry you are a number nothing else)

You can call it BS that is your opinion which is an incorrect one I suggest you do some research on the subject and get some facts.

People who are poor have awful health.

Take a look at the lifestyles of this group of people pre covid-19.

It has nothing to do with people who have or have not received a jab.

This is about deaths not infection rates again meaningless if 15 are in one house how many of those 15 died.

I had to laugh regarding you mentioning cause and effect. (yet you do not appear to understand it for the concept of wealth regarding a persons health)

And that's obviously not at all linked to being poor?

Not always.
Some people buy big houses and have all the family live under one roof.

Southern Asians are culturally attuned to large interacting family groups. Even if they were much richer that dynamic would still be a cultural reality.

Outside of a contagious virus this cultural practice is much more effective than European style nuclear family set ups.....though it gives less individual independence.

He's just stating a view, no need for your wig to fly off. As with most things in life there are likely realities in between. Is being poor a plus when a pandemic is around? No. Is 15 to a house a positive in the same scenario. Most certainly also no.

Of 2000 new Covid cases in Scotland two-thirds say they travelled to London for the football. They weren’t too poor to do that.

Doesn't surprise me. I did see legions of our kilted brethren the next day at Kings cross.

Curiously I was having a 'Spoons breakfast the same day and when it arrived half of it wasn't even on the plate. The guy strangely claimed 'the Scottish ate all of the bread'. Strange interaction..

Sorry but the "Manchester poor" meaning they get more covid than anywhere is plain crap and lazy politics.
There are many poorer areas than Manchester for goodness sake!
Poor social distancing, not taking the vaccine, disobeying the rules as well as the make up of their community is the cause and their suggestion is just plain ridiculous.
The latest outbreaks have all been in areas with low vaccine uptake and with a high "ethnic" population.
More cases naturally means more hospitalisation and deaths sadly.
They need to look in at themselves and not blame the rest of the country!

As some of you know I am a vaccine volunteer I received this today.

""We have been advised of a mass vaccination clinic at Crystal Palace on Saturday 3rd July. I have no further information than that at the moment, apart from the following:

The event will be a celebration of football and music, with the Club televising the England Quarter Final Euros match on their large screen to people in the stands who got their tickets by coming along for vaccination. There will also be a DJ on site and some high profile music performances (securing Stormzy to ‘headline’). Appointments will be available on the NBS and we are looking to deliver 6k-10k Pfizer vaccinations to under 40s""

So if you have not had the first jab or it is now 8 weeks since you did book an appointment and get down to the Palace on Saturday get the jab and enjoy the day.

I expect there will be a press release at some point so if someone could post it this was an internal email asking for vaccine volunteers.

Stormzy. This has got a rally written all over it but its great news outside of my cynism. Well done badger you have shown all through this that it costs nothing to care.
Big up to you my fellow Eagle

A good idea really to get some of the vaccine shy opting in. Thanks for highlighting it and also for your volunteer work .
