The slippery slope so many are too willing to go down. Gonna be interesting when vaccine passports evolve into more government control and interference. But of course a lot now welcome that too. Oddballs.

The information on long term side effects is limited because the vaccines have not existed long term yet, however some read across from similar vaccines does give assurance, as does the results to-date from the millions of doses delivered so far.
The effects of not vaccinating or trying to constrain the pandemic are much better understood though

No one can comment on long term as stated no data.

Adults have a choice and should educate themselves regarding risk this is not the case for children who still have developing immune systems this opens up a lot of variables you can not account for.

Children do not need it we have seen this why people keep pushing and trying to argue the case for them to have it is puzzling when this is suppose to be about peoples health/safety.

99% recovery rate no control was needed I understand when you have no data action needs to be taken once it had been gathered the measures no longer was needed this has never been about peoples safety.

The messages should of been about people getting healthy and fixing their poor lifestyles/diet not about pushing out experimental drugs etc.

Even now you don't hear advise about Vitamin D being important (This has been an issue before covid-19 for people in this country)

Widespread testing then 91,456,622 doses given so far in the uk, out of 5,460,114,540 worldwide, demonstrates the vaccine as safe. There are (as with all vaccines) some risks but these are outweighed by the consequences of the virus.

I just dont understand how vaccinated are not required to have a negative test now for most flights / or to go to games.

Vaccinated people are just as likely to catch, carry and transmit the virus than an unvaccinated person.

you can easily just sit next to someone who is vaccinated at the game on saturday but is positive for covid? but has not been tested! yet an unvaccinated person who has tested negative is given grief by all these "pro vaccine" enthusiastics"

one could say vaccinated are the super spreaders becuase they simple are not being tested to go to events or to sit on planes! wheras the unvaccinated are taking tests!

for this i do not understand the reasoning behind the vaccine passports! Over in ireland I cant even sit in costa coffee without a passport! I walk by pubs in dublin and I am not allowed in!

Science is built on asking questions and challenging science! But no one seems to be even asking the simple questions and just do as they are told.

I would much rather catch covid and recover from it with my own immune system. Which btw is more effective than any vaccine! I know full well i will likely catch it once a year just like the flu. I do not fear it and I go about my day as normal as I can!

I was in london last week and went to brentford, watford, west ham games and then to east points festival. So far two negative PCR tests (for flying) and two negative antigen tests. I really do not fear it! Yes I am a case waiting to happen but then I know I will catch it sooner or later!

Interesting points. Iím fully vaccinated and jump on planes and have a Palace season ticket. BUT, I test before I leave the house to come to Palace, I test before I fly and I test before I go to work in London. I also wear a decent mask in enclosed spaces. NOT because I am scared of it, although I donít wish to get it, but because I am conscious that there are lots of older folk whoís vaccines may be waning and lots of younger ones unvaccinated.
We all have to do our bit to protect both ourselves and others.

The vast majority under apartheid suffered. The vast majority who have been vaccinated haven't suffered at all. Those under apartheid would have gladly swapped their oppression for the sake of wearing a mask and/or getting a vaccination or covid test to do things in their lives they only dreamt about.

So, your comparison using apartheid is one if desperation and quite frankly utterly ridiculous. You clearly do not understand what oppression and control of your life really means at all.

This my point! I have no problem testing myself at anytime! It should be testings for everyone regardless of vaccination status! As you can still test positive with the vaccine. It takes 15 mins to do an antigen test before you leave your house, go to a game or visit someone!

Within the UK the vaccine is not being forced on anyone, everyone has a choice (and theyíre at a higher risk from the virus than the vaccine).

Now we enter this territory.

12-15 year olds are to be offered the vaccine. These children have no choice if their parent agrees or disagrees with the vaccine. The parent has the right to refuse or accept.

There are risks from the vaccine and people have died as a direct result of the vaccine. Children are at low risk, very low, of adverse reaction to the virus.

Should children have the right to override their parents on this matter? Or maybe ask the children what they want, but keep it from their parents? How can this be the right thing to do?

It's pointless to give 12 - 15 year olds the vaccine, and that efforts would be better spent giving the booster jab to the elderly (preferably alongside the flu jab).

It's important to add though that it's incorrect to state that the parent solely gets to decide on the matter. In fact the suggestion is that where the parent and child disagree, the child will for the most part have final say [Link] [Link] . The inference of your post is that you want children to have a say, however also be aware that this will bring about the scenario where a parent may strongly disagree with the child being vaccinated and the child will go ahead with it anyway. Thems the breaks if we're leaving it down to the individual.

In all fairness, the vaccine has only been offered to 12-15 year old. It hasn't been like the days when we went to school and you just lined up and got jabbed by some district nurse. I don't remember anyone having a say.
