Perhaps the difference is the "Sell on the asset" bit as Parish has shown no sign of wanting to sell up and take his huge profit with him Parish has done a fantastic job, but seems to have trust issues making it unlikely he'll relinquish control. Now we seem to have two sets of decision makers with conflicting opinions leading to a diluted approach to growing the club which isn't ideal. But we need capital, and they are the people that have it. I think we'd have a similar problem on the playing side if Roy was moved to a less hands on role.

I don't see ours so-called investors living in the local community etc. There are only a certain number of seats on the PL gravy train. When you factor in the players, agents, managers there isn't any more seats for money makers. Unless you want to be involved as a plaything and take a hit financially, the PL isn't a place to put your money. Even harder for us as the stadium needs major refurbishment and haven't like the Spammers been thrown a bargain by the sports govt. Are there any billionaires living in Thornton Heath wishing to burn money ?

My brothers started coaching my nephews under 8s team. He hasn't played much football but was a very high level sportman and none of the other parents wanted to do it. He uses a handful of one or two word instructions so the kids know what they should be doing, but it should be their choice rather than "PlayStation" coaching. The only issue he's had with the FA is that they won't let a doctor parent be one of the recognised first aiders as they haven't done the FA course! Mate Good luck to your Brother and nephew. As I mentioned some parent's are a nightmare and as you rightly say they forget it's just kids playing. Some Dad's trying to "relive their careers" through their kids when some couldn't trap a bag of sand..!! COYP

Getting back to the subject matter. 2020 has been an horrible year for most and a pretty poor one for Palace. A relegation battle is quite possible. Roy Hodgson has a long earned reputation for being a shrewd manager and coach but his reputation is now tarnished by his inability to inspire a reasonably talented, if aging, squad. It was telling when he remarked after the Leicester game that Ray Lewington 'went apoplectic' at half time because of the team's poor first half performance. Excuse me? Who is the manager? His bewildering tactics, strange team selections and abysmally late substitutions indicate to me he has lost his grip on things. I have no doubt that many a manager (yes, even Eddie Howe or Thomas Franck) could do better and incentivise this team so that they play to their true and undoubted ability. The complete lack of midfield creativity is down to him as he apparently believes that quality is not within his remit. Any manager must have free rein to buy and sell players at his discretion. We will never get a replacement until Mr Parish gives that undertaking, within reason and subject to the club's financial situation. Mr Hodgson should declare his intention to retire at the end of the season and give the new man, whoever it is, a chance to plan for the 2021/2 season. Be it still in the PL or in the Championship.

Indeed they were bought on his watch, but the pair only cost a total of £13 Mill. Kouyate has played both in midfield and central defence for us and I respectfully don't share your view about his overall contribution.Thank goodness he can play in central defence given our woes in this area! Totally agree. That style of football is not in our DNA. That experiment failed with FDB. As many have said we can barely string 2/3 passes together let alone total football approach. Just want to see some attacking intent. With two wingers if I’m being really indulgent.

If we fail to get anything against a side at the bottom of the Premiership with only 2 points, he will be under extreme pressure! I’m dreading Saturday as we seem to completely switch off against teams like Sheffield United when we should be taking them apart.
