It is the fact that they want our manager gone, a man who is Palace through and through, a man that has thousands of hours of football game experience gone, gone because in their eyes he is going to get us relegated and mostly because he can't motivate his players to play like Barcelona and to be higher up the table then the eight points below Man.U we are now.

No, it’s simply that they have a different viewpoint to yours and it makes them no more or no less a fan than you, so give it a rest with the histrionics and stick with the subject matter. If you don’t like what’s on the Roy out thread, just post on the Roy in thread.

Just watching brighton and that is a poor squad. We are not poor in fact it's the best I remember as a group in 40 years. We are not used to our best ability. Imho.

Doing the job badly, tickled pink, very, very badly and getting worse.

No wins in the last 5, no clean sheets in 15 games and heavily reliant on Wilfred Zaha to save his blushes.

Although, transfers, set pieces, substitutions, motivating the players don't appear to be part of the remit of that job.

So more nonsense. You've made it your life's obsession to cvnt Roy off but didn't even know he wasn't responsible for recruitment.

Thought that bissouma for the weed was good. I got a mate said the weed want the league abandoned due to covid outbreak. They are deluded.

One problem is teams below us with games in hand means we could be 15th if we dont beat the blades. Then scrapping with the weed over 16th place.

Let's not reinvent history.
Roy was instrumental in Cahill joining, stated that he had been after Mcarthy for years and also said he had checked out Sorloth with his Scandinavian contacts and was happy with what he had heard.
He also capped Butland and Clyne for England and seemed on board with those signings.
In saying this, I acknowledge he's not solely responsible for player recruitment any more than other managers are at many clubs.
In fairness to Roy, he has not sought complain about squad weakness and has recently referred to it's strength.
He said how difficult it has been to leave established players out of matchday squads, and has also said he's unsure of the need to buy in January as it would just be 'piling bodies upon bodies.'

I see no point making a change at this stage, but hope he leaves at the end of the season.

Ha ha that's like wining and dining a bird, showing her compliments and getting her gagging then f***ing her off in a cab. Brilliant

That's simply not true. He didn't show any interest in Palace until become our manager, despite being born in Croydon.

At best it's a gross exaggeration of the facts pushed out by our PR Guru Chairman.

Following the sacking of FdB, Parish went all out on a media exercise of building up the "Croydon Roy" image to draw attention away from the FdB and Iceland failures.

Please try and question everything put forward in the media, in particular Palace's PR department, reading our programmes you'll never see a bad word said about anyone involved in the club, no matter how badly we've done. Properganda at it's best. We have become a bit more honest since the Jordan era though.

I've recounted my experience from football - As I said that was my experience/opinion and others are welcome to their own views and interpretation.

Mine is my own experience whereas I notice you needed to research yours - Hmmm..!!

Ok - but I did question how you knew Roy “ melted into the background “ at half time and then you wrote that he was claiming the credit for allowing Ray to say his piece.

I accept they were your personal experiences and differ from mine - I too was fortunate enough to play and coach at a semi pro level. It won’t surprise you to know I had my say regarding in match performance and indeed it was expected.

Neither of our experiences are relevant to what happens in the professional game. Which is why I posted the piece on Wenger and Keown. I hope that gives some perspective now to the Ray Lew situation.

Having read your other posts, I am in full agreement with you in one thing at least - we both want the best for the club we love !

Happy New Year to you - Up The Palace !

Brighton fans hounded Hughton out of the club, after bringing them into the Premier and surviving, but they didnt like his style of football.
Now they have Potter, who we are led to believe is a young vibrant manager with new ideas etc. Not worked out too well, he has just presided over his Brighton team winning only twice at the Amex in 2020 and now in a relegation dogfight.
The old saying the grass isnt greener comes too mind.

For every Potter there’s a Brendan Rodgers or Ralph Hasenhuthll.
To replace a staid manager with a progressive manager is not doomed to failure.
There’s a danger of being trapped into a mindset where we can only survive if we appoint a certain type of manager - Pulis, Allardyce, Pardew, Hodgson.
Where next - Pearson or Bruce?
The managers we’ve had have done sound jobs, but eventually we’ll run out of this type of candidate as there’s only a finite amount around still working!
To write off any change of approach ever because of the short lived experiment with DeBoer seems a tad over the top.

Let Roy steer us through the rest of this disrupted season, then move for Dyche at Burnley in the Summer. This looks like the best fit and he would jump at the chance of coming back south....
