As Gary St. Andrew said, Wickham will get injured at some point during the next three weeks training and that will be that for another season. I have never known anyone like him for the number of weeks spent injured whilst at a club for almost 6 years.

Having said that, surely the only possible reason it could be extended is that he has some serious shiite on Parish. He has stolen a living and on top money too. Disgraceful.

Why? I suspect the club will want to spend money in other areas so a fit Wickham along with a partly reborn Benteke and the continued loan of Mateta may possibly satisfy the board's striker needs, especially if Zaha stays. The urgent needs are clearly in midfield followed by a young CB (although a fit Ferguson might be able to fill that gap). Only my opinion of how things might pan out, of course.

Irrespective of my views on Hodgson, I'm looking at it from Parish's point of view. If he has someone already lined up then I would expect him to have told Roy and announced it formally at the end of the season. Of course it could be that there is no one lined up and Roy will sign an extension. Edited by southnorwoodhill (15 Mar 2021 1.38pm) As much as I want us to move on from Roy, I think that it would be disrespectful to announce a new manager with so many games left to play. The best thing that could happen is that Roy announces his intent to retire at the end of the season. That will appease all of the Roy Out Brigade, of which I am one, and we can then get giddy with the speculation of Roy's successor, knowing that a change is coming.

None of which should equate to a new contract of course. I don't even think he's any good when he is fit personally, though some seem to rate him.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

If you had a manual work contract and didn’t do any work for about 70% of that contract would you have expected to be paid and full pay to boot? I’m sure he’s gutted to be injured but that is not a reason to even consider extending his contract.

The trouble is big toe, we have a few others that are starting to fall into the Connor Wickham gravy train model. Sakho is a disgrace if you ask me and what was the point of getting Ferguson from WBA. We seem to get proper mugged off.
