Rather than reduce the price I think supermarkets will reduce quality.

I look up the reviews on Tesco before buying and I often get 'this is not so good as previously' indicating this.

Some of the stuff I am keen on gets really panned there so what do you do.

Cheap sausages a very false economy, but they don't have anything that you would call quality on sale either.

Should be giving up meat anyway1

The cheapest meat always sells. The biggest purchasers are the food manufacturers and restaurants. Generally they aren't too sensitive to quality, only to price.

So we shall be importing some right rubbish very soon.

It is interesting to note that according to the WWF Australia produces more food related emissions per capita than Argentina and Brazil and WAY more than the UK. But of course that doesn't get priced in.

So who was happy about our new trade agreement with Australia?

And by the way, look at the importance of the EU to the industry. 70%, 90% and 95% of pig meat, beef and sheep meat exports respectively.

Apparently, chlorinated chicken adds to the flavor and any welts or extra leg, second head ,on the animal is given free by the farmers!

0% income tax on people earning under 50K a year would help for starters. Maybe raise VAT 1% to counter that, I've always said Income taxes are the main reason you can't fill lower paid jobs.

Perhaps but we should first stop paying people to sit at home. The hospitality industry is crying out for workers and those workers are being furloughed.

Furlough needs stopping asap.
I have heard of two restaurants now that can't open due to lack of staff - they were furloughed but when they were asked to come back they either resigned or said it wasn't safe yet.
Covid has caused this more than Brexit sadly.

It's something they are extraordinary experienced in.

I expect you would have preferred how it was before. Constant warfare is of course good for the soul.

Well if they hadn’t all picked on us for centuries things would’ve been more peaceful.
