My remark had nothing to do with the post itself. I rarely, if ever, look at links from such sources, as past experience indicates there are better things to do with my time. I pick and choose the sources I use to ensure I am aware of current right, and left, opinion. I don’t need any others. It was solely to comment on the idea that people “know”, when the reality is that in most cases all they have is an opinion. One that is usually disputed by someone else. As doubtless this will be! Thus proving the point. The problem with “know it alls”. Is that they don’t know everything ! They just think they do. Mark Twain succinctly explained this. Take it up with him! Although he probably wouldn’t respond, even if he could, because of another of his famous remarks about being careful who you argue with.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

I'm hardly a 'know it all' but in regards to yourself it often appears that just having a modicum of common sense becomes like a superpower. If your sources on the US right are missing the main news on the right then your selection leaves something to be desired.

Who determines what is the “main” news on the right? It’s just another opinion isn’t it?

For evidence of my acceptance of that fact just check the threads I might follow but don’t comment in. There are things where I take a keen interest, have acquired some knowledge, so have formed opinions, and do comment. As is obvious, other opinions are available. Other posters comment on everything, including subjects they have no knowledge about at all.

I would say it was pretty small beer when someone like Candace Owens gets sacked. Hardly earth shattering. Trump and the election are the big news. I would say it’s actually of more interest to the left, watching the right get themselves into a tangle over how to balance their claims to be “Christian” and support for Israel. If you want a real insight try reading Andrew Torba.

Well, I never said it was earth shattering, just if you knew you knew. People like yourself are obsessed with Trump....you need to evolve Corny and learn to accept the future. Stop fighting what's inevitable. You won't, but at least I get to enjoy the popcorn. As for Torba....just another of your obsessions.

Me accept the future! That’s rich coming from one of the group completely unable to do just that. I accept that the future for us and most other developed countries is going to be very different to the past. Instead of fighting the inevitable I prefer to see us preparing for it and making sure it will work for us. Trump is not inevitable. I cannot stop him but I can try to support those who can. As for Torba, he is a very pertinent example of the sickness infecting the USA. He is worth reading just to understand how extreme some of the views are. Both Trump and Torba are part of the same problem. One that is not on our doorstep but looms over us nonetheless. Am I obsessed by it? I am certainly very concerned by it. I think I have good reason to be, and think we all ought to be. By the way I did a little research on the use of the prerogative “Trump Derangement Syndrome”. It’s interesting. It seems it’s not the first time those who oppose a President have been accused of having a “Derangement Syndrome”. Indeed I recall just how shocked I was when I heard my ex pat American friends describe Obama. Someone I had a great regard for as a decent man. They absolutely hated him, but when you tried to find out why the reasoning was very thin. Mostly it was because they opposed gun control and trying to bring the costs of healthcare under control.
