I mean who are they other than paying fans the same as the rest of us, the only difference being that they wear black hoodies and want to be the centre of attention all the time. We used to sing and support the team before they elected themselves to be more Palace than anyone else. Do they reckon that the club want to be in our current situation? We haven't got the money or the players they seem to think we have! You are absolutely correct, I agree with every word.

How come FFP only applies to Palace? West Ham never seem to have any problems with FFP Nor do Brighton, who have a loan of over £200m from owner. Are loans allowed? If so our owners could match that surely? Is SP hiding behind this to explain lack of investment?

You might be doing Bloom a disservice. He has chucked £394m at Brighton during his ten years as owner, through funding, loans and shares, and never got (or sought) a penny of it back as far as I can see. What must be remembered though is that within that £394m he paid for the stadium and training ground, which is not subject to FFP. He has still 'lent' Brighton a lot to put into the team though. From the figures I can see, the total loans since they got into the Premier league are at just over £110m over three years. For context, we've borrowed about £55-60m for football purposes from the Americans. Brighton must have made a convincing FFP case regarding Blooms 'loans'. Apparently they managed to make a profit in their first year in the premier league somehow (very rare), and though they have spent a lot of money since, they will have an increased share of the TV money soon, as your share goes up depending on how long you've been in the league. They also have decent income from the stadium and its corporate facilities. Bloom has shown that the club should be able to afford his loans, hence he can provide them. The priceoffootball website, which is really good, offers this: Brighton are fortunate to have an owner is Bloom who has a strategy for the club and as such is unlikely to indulge in some of the madcap short term schemes that have left many in the EFL looking very vulnerable. Basically, he has 'lent' Brighton money, but they are good for it, possibly in a way that we currently aren't. That doesn't mean that if we had the new stand, with its profitable corporate facilities etc that our owners would approach Palace in the same way as Bloom of course, but only time will tell us that.

Embarrassing? Brighton now need (and will hope for) Palace to win their next game and for themselves to have at least 2O something shots to score against a BFS team. Silly thread.

Personally I stand by my original response to the banner and statement. Calling out the players for a lack of effort is perfectly legitimate, is exactly what many of us would do if we were in the ground this season, and might even have had an effect last night (though who knows?). The rest of the statement, which is by far the largest part of it, is total bulls***, spoken from a position of willful ignorance and misplaced entitlement. I'd have had plenty of time for a banner that said: 'Some of you are overpaid and under committed. Try harder you b******s.' But that's not what it said.
