I really am hoping for an announcement today, hopefully this delay is due to getting Vieira and his assistant signed so fingers. crossed. Knowing Palace never easy, never straight forward I wondering if in conjunction we will hear that a number of out of contract players have signed as well come Monday.

Its going to be really interesting to see how these managers go this year.
Spuds must be on choice 6 - Flick, Ten Haag, Conte, Fonseca, Gattuso and finally Nuno.
Everton maybe three - Moyes a no go, Nuno then Benitez.
Us - who knows - did Frank turn us down, it seems Favre did, so maybe PV if he signs is No 3.
Then Fulham pick a manager who hasnt worked for a couple of years and probably needed those to learn how to defend a set piece.
Wolves, Bournemouth and WBA seem to have made one choice and got them.
Celtic made the best choice of all in picking an Australian! (although they'll be picking another one in about 3 months as he turns the revolution too quickly)

I can't begin to imagine the impact on the squad at the moment with all the uncertainty. Viera was a great player IMO but, his managerial CV hasn't been that impressive.Still, if it's going to be him, let's get it sorted.

He had a 52% win ratio in America, and 47.5 at Nice that's not too bad

Just wondering where the 47.5% came from as looking on a couple of sites it I've seen figures of under 40% at Nice?

If Viera, takes this job it will be a risk whatever . Not just Viera, but the club it’s self represents a risk as a project .
Serious forward movement for the club has to be financed by the club. If that’s not forth coming then how do you fairly judge any manager we may get. Just as Hodgson, is not getting fairly judged by many.
Viera, may well of already have fallen foul of this scenario at Nice. He got them into a European competition, and as has happened so often to others it proved to much for the squad he had. It’s a constant problem for aspiring managers. It’s the same here clubs are managed into the Premier league, manager hero, fail to stick ,manager zero. Everton , are an example of poor all round form almost ever time they get into a European competion, and managers fall by the wayside .Dyche, just about pulled Burnley out of a free fall a couple of years back with European commitments sucking them dry. Viera, did enough at Nice, to be compared to us, I would just hope he wont get kicked out if he has as much success.

11 am has come and gone and no announcement. If they’re waiting for his work permit could be a while. If not then it’s not looking promising. If he isn’t announced today then it’s not happening and Dougie and Sean will be taking training on Monday.
