Agree, the non establishment right...or even just the libertarian or free thinker no longer gets any help or opportunities from the establishment.....it's a disgusting downgrade from the country we were raised in.

So it's down to us to choose those individuals or businesses that don't hate us or look down on us and support them.....in any form we can.

The rest can nod along to Nish Kumar.

Whilst it is clear that Boris has cocked up I am already bored again with wallpaper and parties.
Someone called in to LBC yesterday and said maybe people should remember how he won a landslide election victory, got Brexit through and done and was in charge for the vaccinations.
He shouldn't have to pay to decorate his own flat given that he earns less than most useless Council leaders and those that partied were wrong but were the rest of the population all angels - no!
Bored now and time to move on.

How forgiving are you

Brexit has been dreadful. Ask a farmer, manufacturer, anyone in commerce etc.

And, despite being integral to the creation of vaccines with a massive head start we are now 34 in the list of fully vaccinated proportion of country residents.

Not only are we behind e.g. Ireland, Italy, France, Portugal, Holland, Spain we are also behind Chile, Cuba, Uruguay and Puerto Rico. Frittered the good start away. Have you even heard of the vaccines minister?

the only reason Brexit was difficult was the EU trying to play hardball. Like the schoolyard bully. Trying to make an example of the UK to discourage other countries from leaving their toxic cult.

Are we behind or simply have way more who don't want the vaccine. The opportunity to have both jabs and the booster has been there for all so not sure why or how we have fallen behind.

I would also like to see the demographics of where we have fallen behind. I've got a good idea of the answer but would like to see it in plain facts.

I’d blame immigrants if I were you. Or Muslims. Then compare our demographics with countries that appear effortlessly to have overtaken us

I ask again, who knows anything about the vaccines minister, or even who it is?

Some may be bored with wallpaper and parties, but I'm not.

I agree that some didn't obey the rules, but many did and were unable to see loved ones over the Christmas period.

Working on the Tory maxim that you shouldn't have what you can't afford, he knew what he was going to be paid when went for the job of PM. If he didn't like the wages then don't do the job!

I can just imagine some of the headlines in the papers if he wasn't in power. If you can't afford to decorate your flat why are you having more children?

It would be wrong to speculate without the facts however from news pieces I have read the Muslim and black communities do appear to have the most distrust of the vaccination and this is borne out of the detail coming from the London Boroughs which was on the news the other night.

Still no clearer though as to why we have fallen behind. Are there really that many people who simply do not want to be vaccinated or have we been tardy in dishing them out?

If you want people to take the vaccine you need to get them to:

1) trust why you are asking them to
2) believe the vaccines work
3) believe there is minimal risk in taking the vaccine
4) follow people who are influencers in their communities and who strongly believe in vaccinations

Also, the vaccines need to be easily available and how to get them made obvious.

Firstly, how much trust is there? Not much left I suspect. Especially right now. And who is doing the heavy lifting to counter the nonsense individuals with an interest in an 'alternative message' spout into social media.

Do you know where your nearest vaccination centre is? Do you know how long the queues are? Do you know if you can make an appointment and if you do whether the time will be adhered to? Do you know if you can just walk in off the street and if you do how long you'll wait?

Other questions spring to mind. If you had an AZ vaccine and then didn't get your second can you? Will you be negatively viewed? Which vaccine will you then be given?

On the basis that the above questions are not easily answered, I contend that the Government has done a pretty poor job, all the more irritating as there are lots of volunteers itching to help.

Now would someone like to tell me why Maggie Throup is ideally suited to lead on this initiative and what she has done since Zahawi left the gig.

My own experience in receiving all 3 has been excellent and they have been at 3 different locations, Boots Caterham, Pharmacy Sevenoaks and Caterham Westway (purely by choice as I was trying to find the quietest location to go to). The booster was in Caterham and it was managed by the local Rotary Club and what a fantastic job they are doing. You could book online, you could just turn up, it was very easy and straightforward. I am sure there are many many places around just like this.

I suppose what I am saying is, it is easy to get a jab if you want one. The problem appears to be with those who don't want one or who are worried about having one. No doubt the points you have made will be an influence on some but I'm not sure you can blame just the government for it. They must of course take some blame however I believe community leaders have a bigger role to play in expelling myths.

There will always be a certain number who will not have it regardless of the cajoling from any number of sources. Perhaps we simply have more of those.

How long are the queues and do you need to book?
Really?
In the UK most official literature is available in most languages
So ignorance isn't an excuse I'm afraid.
Stats are such that ethnic people are more susceptible to hospitalizations and death pro rata the population.
Is that not proof enough that it's sensible to beleive the science and hmg, not your local mouthpiece.
