Now come on there Owen, you know that ex marketing and sales managers never push the envelope when it comes to making claims. They are the very examples of probity and truth.

Now wash your mouth out with one of several commercially available soaps.

If something looks like, sounds like, smells like and acts like something, it likely is that thing.

I have over the decades met many expats I would consider similar to WE based on what he has posted here.

IMHO , with a few exceptions those who spent time based in the Philipinnes were usually the least capable and most fanciful. I don't know if this applies to WE as I don't know his history but I would not be at all surprised.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

We can only hope that in his time out there saving the vulnerable and doing good and humble work that he also found some time for finding relaxing nudist beaches for contemplative repose.

Your first paragraph is true.

It's also true that I have spent some time in the Philippines. I haven't though ever set foot in the Philipinnes, nor met anyone who has. I have though met many ex pats who think they are supersmart, but cannot spell.

I was never an ex pat. I spent some winters there a few years ago, when I owned a business run under management and could handle what I needed to do remotely.

Most of the ex pats I got to know in the Philippines were from the USA, some from Europe and others from Australia and New Zealand. As mixed a bunch as you will find anywhere, generally quite hard drinking (which I am not), kind and polite, but the Americans in particular were especially prone to a belief in conspiracy theories. I guess because they got so much of their "news" on the web. It was there that I first realised how pernicious these things can be. I had many quite challenging conversations over them.

So no, I am not a typical ex pat, and nor are my opinions or behaviour remotely typical.

Interesting - this is the 2nd article that I have read which covers the link between lockdowns and the Strep A outbreak.

The link should be investigated and the threat of lowered immune systems from a lack of socialisation amongst the young was known from the start...If these deaths are linked it's criminal in my view.

The whole thing was vampiric and the very opposite of what should be.

Agreed - more children have died from Strep A than from Covid - absolutely criminal.

As I am pretty sure you know the Philippines is a deeply conservative country. One in which the Catholic faith runs deep along with a significant minority of Muslims in the most southerly island. You very rarely see a bikini, let alone topless, and never nudism. That's just the men! The ladies normally wear shorts and T-shirts on the beach. So you can be reassured that I could stumble upon remote coves to my heart's content certain that there would be nothing there that could feed your earnest desire to build a mountain out of a sand castle.

I don't think I suggested you were lying! That implies a deliberate act. More that you were mistaken. I knew it couldn't be true, because there isn't one in that locality, and there is no reason at all why I would have pretended otherwise. So I challenged you to find it, and you have not, offering wriggling excuses as your reason.

My memory remains intact. In this case I know what I saw, but accept others won't believe me. I cannot prove it, but that doesn't concern me at all. In yours you could prove your memory, if it was accurate, but have not tried to or, as I am pretty sure, cannot because the proof doesn't exist.

So I reject the accusation of hypocrisy and once again invite you to prove me wrong.

You also suggested we had a pre-Christmas beer, which you sarcastically suggested I would decline. Having accepted your offer, and had two reminders of my acceptance ignored, I cannot help but wonder where the hypocrisy actually resides. I passed through Scorrier yesterday on my way to Redruth and as I went by the Fox and Hounds thought of you! That pub does exist. A bowling green doesn't.

firstly, the video you said you saw doesnt exist,if it did, for sure you would have posted proof
Secondly IF you accepted my invite for a beer,I havent seen your acceptance, can you point me to the post...I will wilingly buy you a beer, Fox and Hounds or any other pub of your choice...I will be in the area 30th of Jan for a week

My knowledge of the Philippines is pretty basic at best. However, we can observe that you yourself are seeming pretty attracted to very conservative places while being quite subversive politically to that conservativism....A nicer description of that would be saying it's having your cake and eating it too. You should be living in progressive places that are in line with your social politics.

As I have said several times it did exist, because I saw it. Whether it still does, I don't know, but I would expect it does somewhere, but I cannot find it, and I have searched.

It took a while but look at my post at 6.52 pm on 16th November. You said you would be here in January. The 30th is pretty late in the month! I said in my response I would be happy to meet so long as I didn't have a prior commitment, but I have. I am off on holiday the next day for a week, need to get organised and my dog in kennels and my wife would not regard going out for a beer a sensible use of my time! So sorry. Next time?
