'National Insurance hike sparks mass layoffs as Rishi Sunak's tax grab backfires'.

Even the Express is getting it.

The tories are like brexit - a rotten carcass in the back of a lorry.

If only there was a credible alternative.

And that's the kick in the teeth at the end. However much money was given to friends in Covid contracts, lying, tax efficiency, raising NI contributions etc, etc,..there is still no viable opposition to this absolute shower of pi55-taking 5hysters.

"The facts have changed", Rishi Sunak

Wibble

The article actually states there may be layoffs due to a combination of factors including NI, end of furlough and belt tightening by consumers.

I am no fan of NI increase and equally no fan of misleading posts like yours.

But to be fair, at least you are consistent.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Actually apart from the idle rich etc. looking for a beneficiary of the tories '12 years of tory misrule' I would say Russia.

Their corruption has enabled Russian wealth and ability to do what they are doing.

For the next few years our dependency on fossil fuels and with it, Russian oil, will increase as the costs go through the roof.

Political parties not in office cannot be blamed.

'The buck stops here'.

No more 'Tony Blair' thank you, face up to what you have done.

We have no dependency on Russian oil.

The UK along with most of Europe has had stupid energy policies. France has protected itself to a high degree with an efficient and clean nuclear policy.

You hit the nail on the head, but not how you think.

It is very convenient to be able to criticize and whine when you don't have the responsibility of decision-making.

Meanwhile, the prick you supported, and his maths challenged sidekick are still sticking up for Russia along with fifth columnists like you.

So so silly - a logic which implies that you should only criticise and whine when you are in power, which I think an average 4 year old would realise doesn't make sense.

What do you consider the role of the OPPOSITION if not to question and challenge the party in power?

Alternative policies and solutions rather than just constantly bleating and moaning without being constructive.

This applies to all parties.

i stand corrected-but Italy really got a bigger navy than us ship wise?

Depends how you count them

Italian Navy has 181 ships in service, Royal Navy 70

Italians have 4 Destroyers and Royal Navy 6

Both have two aircraft carriers

Italians have 8 submarines and the Royal Navy has 10, all nuclear

Both Navies have 13 Frigates.

What counts more is how effective they are, which is mainly based on how modern.

And also scale, the Royal Navy displaces 433,800 Tonnes, the Italian Navy 275,000.

OK.

Well, that is what the rules at the time said. Whether or not you agree with them. Now, who was it wrote those rules, exhorted us to follow them and instructed the Police to take often draconian action to enforce them?

I know of nobody else that had social activities at work during that time, zero, nada. People were extraordinarily compliant

I’m not defending what they did just saying that for people working in an office to spend another couple of hours together doesn’t seem that serious - provided they maintained the same rules they presumably followed during the working day.
Boris then claiming nothing happened is another matter.
Matt Hancock (anyone remember him?) took a rather more hands-on attitude toward social distancing.
