Dr. Mengele carried out medical experiments on children at Auschwitz, so the comparison is very appropriate.

Dr Mengele didn’t work for the NHS. He was German, a Nazi and the NHS didn’t exist.

So wrong in every possible way.

The NHS doesn't charge for treatment unless you need a prescription, or to go to the opticians or the dentists.

OK, for restricted and relatively minor events they charge, presumably to try to stop over use. But the substantive point remains. For major problems there is no payment at the point of use.

Strangely I am currently in the recovery ward at Derriford Hospital Plymouth after investigative day surgery. The treatment has been exemplary and it’s only cost me for a Hotel last night as I needed to be here at 7 am. No charges from the NHS for anything, including prescriptions as I am exempt.

Define happier. Within this subject matter. Does 25-50% regret rate mean happier?

As the true figure is less than 1%, it’s not a real question is it?

If 99% are then I think you can be pleased!

What you have said does not negate my comparison at all.

Band 3 dental treatment costs £319.10 - can't see many over using that facility.
Good luck with your treatment. Hope all goes well.

Of course it does, in the context of the discussion.

Remarks out of context may be true, but are irrelevant to the issue under discussion.

At my age? With 2 children, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren?

Not really very likely is it?

I am very happily married. My wife is about to pick me up. She will laugh at that idea.

Nor can I! Too be honest I have never been comfortable with the amount of the dental charges which undermine the principles of the NHS and were introduced, I believe, to try to overcome a severe shortage of dentists and enable them to be paid better, alongside private work.

The fundamental principle still applies to mainstream NHS work, even if there is a chink in the armour.

Thanks for the good wishes. I feel fine and very happy with the care I have received from everyone here.
