I don't define her. She does that.

She is a con merchant. A wolf in sheep's clothing who has adopted populist tactics to improve her appeal to both left and centralist voters.

Her history, her connections and her positions on things like Nato, Russia, immigrants and the EU put her firmly on the extreme right of European political thought.

The Nazi's used socialistic promises to attract the masses to their philosophy. Le Pen is little different.

You defined her as far right but you do not have a definition of that. It would seem to be anyone who's political opinions you don't like.

Keep with mass immigration and how do you think they’ll mostly vote?

You would think so, but it is remarkable how the problems of the existing majority soon become the problems of the immigrant when they realise that thousands more people arriving doesn't help them either.

It's remarkable how you are so sensitive to one type of propaganda, but yet so blind to another.

Nope! I recognise propaganda for what it is. I also recognise truth when I see it. I can tell the difference, unlike some who post here.

I don't have to define anyone. They do that. I just recognise it. I don't like the politics of Jeremy Corbyn or John McDonell. They are hardly far-right. I also don't like the politics of Boris Johnson. He isn't far-right either. He is just a populist prat.

You need to go to Specsavers.

Silly buzz word alert.

Populist.

A person, especially a politician, who strives to appeal to ordinary people who feel that their concerns are disregarded by established elite groups.

So that is just about every politician.

The unfolding of events over time will show us the truth.

Of course, the globalist media and their useful idiots will be trying to brainwash the masses with their self-serving lies, but hopefully actual reality will shake people out of their comfortable delusions, and they will demand a stop to the madness.

You are a man who wants to defy what people voted for in favour of globalist ambitions. You want to deny people democracy and have them ruled by faceless unelected corruptible puppets in another country.

You want to blame Brexit for all our troubles. Do you also blame Biden for the USA's problems? What about Macron? Do you want to blame him too?
I doubt it. You are as blinkered and narcissistic as anyone I have come across online.

I have no need to even try to "frame" you. You manage to do that all by yourself with almost every post you write. If I spelled it out clearly myself, then I would be breaking the site rules, but there's no need. It's very obvious.

I don't want to deny people anything. I just want our democracy to function the way it is intended to and not be hijacked by those in the Tory Party who put their own survival above the interests of the people.

The "global media", is extremely diverse and contains many right leaning tycoons who spread their own world views to the people. Add to that the influence of social media and the way nonsense gets spread there, then your contention that there is some kind of conspiracy to deny people the truth is shown as baseless.

I don't know how many times I need to explain that globalism isn't a matter of choice. It's a stage of human evolution. You can no more deny it, than fight gravity. We must work with, and within, it.

I most certainly don't blame Brexit for all our problems, only that it has made things worse, not better. Macron has to deal with all the same problems, but together with the other members of the EU working in a unified strategy. He gets the blame, just as Biden gets the blame, for things that are beyond their control. That's politics and the skewed thinking of the uninformed voter who always wants to find someone to blame.

I no more want us governed by anyone other than our Parliament than anyone else. The difference is that I believe that some things are better done with willing partners, so working together to achieve better results makes sense for all. Subsidiarity is the key principle.

Went a few weeks ago. My prescription had changed a little, so I got some new glasses, but not from them. I had a perfectly serviceable frame reglazed via an online supplier.

Thanks for the advice, though!

Absolute rubbish.

Evolution

The change in the characteristics of a species over several generations and relies on the process of natural selection.

Biological not behavioural.

The move toward globalism is about technology and the greed of man. Technology has allowed the very rich and influential to get even greater control over the masses and further their own interests at the expense of the rest.

While the world they created crumbles under the weight of increased population, division and the shortage of necessities, they will be counting the money in their Ivory towers.

You think that is our evolutionary future?

You want us to be the Eloi in your wonderful new world?

It most certainly isn't "every politician".

There are plenty of others who do what they are paid to do. Which is not to try to keep themselves in power by just giving the people what they want. They try to give the people what they need, having spent time and effort studying, consulting and debating with others what that is.

Copying and pasting a simple Google headline definition isn't very clever. I could write a better one. How about "A person, especially a politician, who strives to appeal to ordinary people, by delivering what they want and not what they need, to keep themselves in power".

However, maybe you prefer the concise one from the Cambridge Dictionary :- "trying to be popular with ordinary people and to represent their ideas and opinions".

Or from Collins:- "a person, esp a politician, who appeals to the interests or prejudices of ordinary people".

Or "populism" in the OED :- "a type of politics that claims to represent the opinions and wishes of ordinary people".

Note, "prejudices" and "claims to".

Populism is a very regrettable aspect of modern political life and needs to be called out everything it emerges.

There is nothing modern or unusual about it. That is the point.

You apply these kinds of terms to people you disagree with. It's that simple, as are you.

Thank you France, for not electing a far right bigot.

Racism ? What about the Muslim girl from the poor neighbourhood in Marseilles ? She introduces "louis" her christian French boyfriend to her parents ?

Do you only think prejudice travels in only one direction? Is france integrated or polarized ?
