Wolves have let a promising centre forward, Silva , who they spent a lot of money on go on loan so it's likely they are looking for a replacement at least for the new season.
It's been widely reported that they've made an enquiry for Benteke and this is understandable as they only have Jiminez as a centre forward option and he has yet to recover his form after his head injury.
This doesn't mean Benteke will go.
He seems settled in London, has shown no inclination to want out and then there is the question of fee and wages.
If he still has ambitions to play for Belgium and knows he's way down the pecking order under Vieira, I suppose this could make him reassess his options in search of more regular football.

I agree with you completely but my understanding is that that isn't how Wolves do or intend to play either. As far as their transfer policies have seemed to be, I think this seems incredibly out of place as well

Benteke gets a lot of criticism but I maintain that in the right team that is serving him crosses he's a potent striker who will score goals.

That's his main strength and If I was managing a team principally looking to be about crossing into the penalty box I would certainly be looking at getting Benteke.

Despite their 10th place finish, only the 3 relegated clubs scored fewer goals than Wolves last season. That may be a reason.

Wasn't Jimenez absent for about half the season + they sold Jota to Liverpool & Adama Touré went to Barcelona, I would have thought that would make a dent in anyone's goal tally
