Wolves have let a promising centre forward, Silva , who they spent a lot of money on go on loan so it's likely they are looking for a replacement at least for the new season. Whilst I would agree this seems like the reasoning behind the transfer (if the rumours are true) I still can't help but feel there has to better options for Wolves. Whether that's taking a risk on someone in the championship or going for someone on loan. I wonder whether this could be more made up to try and drum up some interest in Benteke. Either by the club or by Benteke/his agent

Benteke gets a lot of criticism but I maintain that in the right team that is serving him crosses he's a potent striker who will score goals. That's his main strength and If I was managing a team principally looking to be about crossing into the penalty box I would certainly be looking at getting Benteke.

I agree with you completely but my understanding is that that isn't how Wolves do or intend to play either. As far as their transfer policies have seemed to be, I think this seems incredibly out of place as well

Maybe it isn't true about Wolves. Maybe not. I do think he would be a good signing for a newly promoted club but maybe his wages are a little off putting

Unfortunately for Trekkers, the modern game seems to be moving away from a target man and more to players who can press

Wasn't Jimenez absent for about half the season + they sold Jota to Liverpool & Adama Touré went to Barcelona, I would have thought that would make a dent in anyone's goal tally Originally posted by eritheagle

I can never understand how a footballer can have a good season and be awarded a high salary. Any average forward who scores 4 goals/year would only get a small fraction of what Benteke earns. I cannot understand the thinking behind keeping him unless he is on a small fraction of the original salary.
