Besides most of our players from that period played like the football was a strange alien object that couldn't be understood and that was best interacted with by violently booting it into the clouds. For me it was the half a stone that he was carrying that made the difference, he looked good the first time I saw him but didn't have the pace.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

Totally accept that doesn't tell the whole story, but I don't think he's a guaranteed upgrade - I think he's much of a muchness on what we have. He's done well in France, averages 1 in 2 for Lyon, but I genuinely believe our existing forwards would get those numbers in a top French team - Mateta was going over 1 in 3 playing for an average team in the Bundesliga as an example.
