Bring RLC back with the option to buy in 12 months time. He'd be great in our current system. I might be worried about his injury record, but he did manage 40 appearances across all competitions last season and 30 for Fulham the season before.

good call. Definitely prefer a loan rather than a buy - probably couldn't afford him anyway!

Difficult to get excited about loanees. Gallagher was exceptional. Batshuayi in his first iteration (disappointing in his second). Any other successes spring to mind?

Loftus Cheek and Sakho are the obvious ones. Cameron Jerome and Ayew did alright, Mateta was originally a loan.

Can't see us getting RLC. I think he'll get decent game time at Chelsea. They'll want to be getting rid of Barkley & Gilmour first.

Puncheon was originally on loan as was Sakho and both did well. The former proved a better permanent signing

Somebody to cover Mitchell at LB.

Surprised we let Tayo go - as I thought he could do this. But the championship will blood him. Hopefully a first team player next season.

Going further back, 2 cracking loan signings in Ashley Cole and Paul Stewart.

As for a loan signing this season, there were rumours earlier this year about Sanson from Aston Villa. I wonder if they would let him go out on loan (with perhaps option to buy).

Obviously, the club don't feel a need for this. In any event we have the following players who have all played LB for us in the past:
- Schlupp (was a LB at title-winning Leicester before he came to us)
- Ward
- Riedewald
- Ferguson (for a few minutes but is supposed to be flexible across the back line).

I tend to agree with the club that we don't need any extra cover at LB and it was right to send Tayo out on loan to a Championship team. If Tayo performs he'll be a genuine option for our 1st team next season especially if Mitchell continues to improves and is sold for a tidy sum.
