He’s a track record of continuous injuries…that’s how we signed him….if he didn’t he would have been out of our price range. In recent years we have signed a number of such players on the basis that eventually one will come good.

Reliability is a key factor when trying to build a team, it doesn't help when questions regarding fitness and availability keep cropping up.

I agree. When you look at successful teams they generally have a majority of the team that stays injury free for most of the season although I would add that they normally have strong enough squads to rotate.
