Managers are based on results. More bad results = sack. It's just the way it is, it isn't personal.

Pardew was sacked after 17 PL games.
We lost 8 of his last 10 games in charge and only collected 4 pts in those 10 games. We were 17th in the table when he departed.

In our last 10 PL games under Vieira we have only lost 4 of them, have accrued 8 pts and are 12th in the table.

I sense no appetite to rid Vieira of his services at this juncture.

Remarkably we've been in 12th or thereabouts for a while, this is more due to the teams below us failing to pick up any form rather than us playing convincingly. That said, I note recent improvement in most of them; watching the highlights I was impressed by how they worked to try and make things happen, Wolves in particular get numbers forward and deserved their win. If things continue in this manner I expect the gap between us and those below us to close, and as a consequence Vieira's position to come under further scrutiny.

The bottom 3 are actually on more points than normal this time of season which shows they actually are picking up points , Watford this stage last season were on 15 and already cut adrift , that’s worrying that there is no team that is “down already” literally any 3 of the bottom 9 can go and we are fully in the mix and will be even more so after our next 3 games

I think trust the process and keep the faith.

Look at Leeds,West ham, Everton,Notts forest and Bournemouth all have good players but are playing below par. Get the next two matches out of the way City and arsenal, then the points will come.

Get this season out of the way and push on in the new season.

This is what I’ve been telling myself and others for months , but that yesterday really was a smack in the face and I really didn’t expect to lose, and not just lose but again fail to show any threat on goal, and what done it for me was viera slating edouard on the Friday publicly then making him sit on the bench all game and starting with no recognised striker, it actually blew my mind and I feel he may have lost the dressing room, he also looks stressed in his interviews now when he’s always been calm and collected.
Anyway I hope your right dangerclose

But they have been picking up points below us and it has condensed to 6 points from bottom including 9 teams, i expect us to be 17th after the next 3 games, then the not lose games become must win games

If he is sacked, it will have a rather unpredictable effect on the squad.

The other big questions of course are who we would appoint in his place at this stage of the season,

Wolves 'Net Spend' this season is in the region of £100 Mill.
They have a manager who has managed Spain, has won the U19 and U21 Championships for Spain, has managed Real Madrid and guided Sevilla to winning the Europa League.
Vieira is a comparative novice.

Yes, this is what I am saying, given current form I expect the gap to close.

After 45 years of supporting this club Viera has managed what no other manager has, he made me no longer care.

I am of the same opinion.

At present the axe blade is not near to pricking the neck of Vieira, however this could all change if we plummet towards the relegation zone.I suspect if the Board believes a change is necessary, a stop-gap will be appointed.

I am unfortunately not in the same mind set as not caring but I have spoke to many supporters who feel the same as you including my dad who has supported them 62 years and went every game home and away until his health could no longer let him do it so I totally understand what your saying.

The problem is , even with Roy in charge although football was boring we had an identity , we knew we would be ok grind out results and get a few upsets along the way. Last season we seemed to have an identity but this season gone and not even the players look like they care, is it because a lot of their contracts are up ? If it is the board have a lot of blame on them
