I think it's fair to say that after 10 seasons in the PL we look worse as a unit than anything else in that time, irrespective of the style of football and the means to achieve it. This current side and manager look lost, clueless as to how to play the game, no style, no pride, no motivation. We may scrape enough points to survive but in all honesty I can't see anything about PV to suggest that he has the ability to take the club to the next level, notwithstanding lack of investment.

We dont need a new full time manager, just a stop gap to keep us up, to put passion and instill confidence in good players, Freedman, Derry, Paddy or even Roy until the end of the season will give us a lift to get the 11/12 points we need.

The board aren't going to sack him when we have played only one team below us since the WC (the win against Bournemouth) and sit in 12th place with recent draws against United, Liverpool and Newcastle. I also saw a stat that we are third in the PL for cost per point this season (only behind Brentford and Brighton).

Of course I'm not enjoying the games at the moment and if someone told me Tuchel or Pochettino want the job then fine, but when you look at how hard Leeds and Saints found it to get a manager at this stage of the season I think you have to be realistic. Personally I see no signs that the players have turned on Vieira and I have no desire to see another elderly stop gap. I also think a lot of it has to do with confidence. If we could get an unexpected win from one of the next three games that would be huge (if unlikely).

Where are the goals coming from? What’s the plan? Every week from PV we hear how we score goals for fun in training and we just need time to get the players scoring in matches. We’ll he’s had 18 months.

I'm reading the runes here so I may be entirely wrong but...

we have no money to spend (or lots of money to spend, but a board that won't let us spend it). We get one player in the window for £10 million quid (a significant outlay for us) and we blow it on a player (Ahamada) who Vieira won't start and barely brings off the bench (with good reason, if today's cameo was any evidence).

I wonder if Ahamada was a Dougie/club signing that Vieira wasn't very keen on, and the deal might just signal a bit of a rift/deteriorating relationships inside the club?

Given our form of late, you'd have thought if we were going to spend any money in the window, we'd have wanted to blow it on a player who'd be immediately impactful. Heaven knows, we needed/still need help. Vieira himself said so; not a bench warmer.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

But that's providing you have a striker who is good enough to score goals at this level. If we had a decent striker I am sure Zaha would not be our main striker, And would be where he is best deployed (Winger)I do blame the recruitment, We have needed a good striker for a few years. i think its been obvious to the majority who watch week in week out. I think the board headed by Steve Parish are responsible for the position we are in, Thats just my opinion.

We lose to Brighton he HAS to go. Harsh but he's had far more time than the average Prem manager gets.
