Cannot comprehend that Parish and the Board would not have an appropriate replacement lined up,before this sacking, and ready to appoint within the next few days and talks are probably going ahead right now.

Vieira’s old nemesis Roy Keane spotted in Sainsbury’s car park this morning? He did tell Carragher he wanted one more crack at managership. He’d make Shaun Derry seem like Mother Theresa! 😂

Benitez would be a real statement of intent from The Board.

If we could attract Benitez with the challenge to keep us up,with suitable incentives if he delivers, what is there not to like??

Now the Arsenal game is mercifully out of the way the club can get on with appointing a caretaker/new manager.
There are stories that this is likely to be in the next 48 hours.
The sooner the better so at least there's some clarity of direction for the remaining games.
We seem rudderless (or at least more rudderless than usual) at the moment and this needs to end quickly.
Players will be only to happy to look for excuses if the club give them a reason to.

Will Still looks like he’s going to be a top manager. Looks like we’ll play it safer with Hodgson but maybe an option worth looking at ready for next season.

We need a manager who can win 4 games which will takes us to 39 pts, Steve Cooper for me done well with swansea with limited funds turned around forest and knows the teams at the bottom.
Someone who could make a short term impact on the players to Fergus over the safety line.

The new manager would be aware of the possibility of relegation and discussed this at interview. Ignoring this would be negligent imho.
Therefore what assurances can the club give a new manager? The decks will most certainly be cleared of all the dead wood and high earners.

Cooper's on a long term contract (5 years?) and Forest wouldn't want to let him go. It would take a fortune to get him

I'd at least offer Bielsa a 2+ year contract with a big bonus to keep us up and allow him to walk if we get relegated.

He might like the look of our youngsters and decide it's worth a punt for a couple of months work
