Feels like a freak result to me. One born of frustration rather than rationality. Whether a coalition can even be formed is highly questionable but how long it would last even more so. We’ll see. I expect, as with Brexit, significant regret and buyers remorse following quite quickly. To paraphrase a previous CPFC Chairman “Be careful who you vote for”.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Far better to jut let the establishment run the country they know what's best for the people. On the other hand people may have voted for this guy (I know nothing about him but will ask a Dutch friend) because the establishment has failed the voters with their policies. Extremist parties thrive when sensible politicians cannot find sensible solutions e.g. Weirmar republic.

The result is a very understandable reaction against the ruinous left wing and EU degenerate government of a once pleasant country.

The sort of political change we need in Britain. Most are done with the useless two party system that has overseen this country's decline. Totally agree. We need a big shake up in our structure. There are millions who have given up voting as neither party represent their beliefs.

It will still be democratic if a government is formed without Wilders because a majority of people didn't vote for his party. If they form one together that's the people speaking. If he is included then his options will be modified by the need to keep those implacably opposed to his views onside to avoid another collapse. Nothing is clear yet, other than that no one has an outright majority so compromises are going to be negotiated. Extremist parties don't thrive in these circumstances.
