A great pickup for a free. Improves our midfield and addresses the defensive gap left by Milivojevic. I would say he will be a difficult player for Bournemouth to replace and so will weaken their squad.

It was just a "Coming together" in the usual hurly burly and jostling in the penalty area at corners.

Massive signing when we consider how bad our record was vs the top 10 last season. Having Doucoure and Lerma in front of the back 4 unlocks two things for us:

1) We can get into the Odegaards and the De Bruynes and the Fernandes and the Kanes and provide a solid screen for Andersen and Guehi.

2) We can go to places like Anfield, Stamford Bridge and the Emirates with the confidence that we can give both Eze and Olise the licence to attack with a centre forward. Too many times this season we've made Eze sit deep because he's having to play alongside a Schlupp. Doucoure and Lerma give him that allowance to play as a genuine no. 10.

Fingers crossed, we've basically fixed the Gallagher problem and not spent a penny doing it. ~£40m saved. Excellent.

Johnstone, Guehi, Andersen, Doucoure, Lerma, Eze is one of, if not the, best central set ups in the league outside of the big boys.
