We need more than a drift to the right, we need a complete change of direction to the right.

People have been excluded from jobs and sacked from them. It stands in direct opposition to have the right treated the left in the past, because the right only cared about someone's merit at a job and far less about someone's ideology. People can hold whatever opinions they want but when employed they cannot behave as they want. They are required to abide by their employer's terms and conditions. I expect that any dismissals are for breaches of them and not because they hold any particular opinion. Repeatedly mouthing off about many things will get you sacked. Authoritarian right-wing control is much more a real threat.

I agree, but it's not actually what you believe in. I believe in a conservative approach to fiscal policy, balanced books and a strong currency and self-sufficiency in as many services as possible. Alongside a responsible, caring social policy towards the less fortunate. You believe in what was, not what is or what will be.

Hang on, you can't say it's a myth and then in the same paragraph say that if terms and conditions stop people from expressing opposition to political agendas then it's fine to sack them. The people who created those terms and conditions are exactly the people I'm referring to. When the direction of travel only goes one way it's not an accident. Like I said, the right did not do this to the left.....the right care about merit, not your politics.....All the left do is pull the ladder up once in position. When Jo Brand said on a BBC show, in reference to milk being thrown at Nigel Farage, “Why bother with a milkshake when you could get some battery acid?”, she was supported by the BBC and continued broadcasting for them. Whereas Carol Thatcher was cancelled and they never had her work for them again merely for referencing a jam label in connection with a blackman's hair cut.
