Edit: I've just looked again and it seems as though they have changed or removed it, unless I've looked in the wrong place on the live commentary. I'm almost certain it did say it initially as I thought it odd as they usually omit any comment on race of perpetrators. Incredibly awful and sad. Edited by Nicholas91 (13 Jun 2023 2.30pm)

A later news update said that the attacker was black with no mention of dreadlocks - this too has now disappeared from the report. So, that's two of us who saw the reports, but now can't post a link as they have been edited out. Typical BBC really...

Their report is being updated all the time and that particular statement no longer seems to be included, but it was there. Whether accurate is another question entirely. Why inverted commas? That's what you use for quotes!
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

The eyewitness to the arrest described him as dressed in black with a hat and " possibly dark skin ", this is a long way from black as an ethnicity. Oh for heavens sake. We all know that when something like this happens in Britain there is a 1% chance of the person being White. Let's stop all the pretence. If it were the US then maybe it would be it would be a question. They seem to breed disaffected gun crazy white boys over there.
