It’s not so much a doubt about Hall joining, but more a question of the length of time it’s taking to finalise/announce , in particular when we have injuries.
Hall would provide an immediate boost to the squad and why join e.g tomorrow when he could have had a full week with the squad and be raring to go if necessary this weekend.

Here ya go Patrick, this is possibly the reason . . . [Link]

So he will play in central midfield.

Ye that's an interesting bit of info. Especially considering that's pretty much the only place in the team where we have genuine competition.

Decoure Lerma Eze first choice

Schlupp Hughes Riedewald second choice

Providing Hall a place in that midfield is difficult unless Eze gets pushed wide but I doubt that as he's performed so well centrally.

Makes the link to another central midfielder Curtis Jones seem all the more click-baity. Unless we're planning to do away with wingers and play 5 central midfielders! Mitchell and Ward to provide all the width!!

How do the Evening Standard know he'll be playing central mid?!

He's LB and midfield, presumably centre/left?

While he undoubtedly plays both, Transfer Markt has him primarily as LB and I feel that is where his talents will lie this season. Finally, someone to give TM a chase.

He is spoken of very highly by Chelsea supporters. He played extremely well for them last season in his appearances for the first team.

He is left sided and they seem to think his best performances came as an attacking left back than in midfield, although he can play both positions with ease.

Their forums seem to think he will be better for us than Gallagher, that is some statement and gives me great optimism that we might have a terrific creative player down the left side for us this season.

If he joins us then we have to accept from the off that it’s just a Seasons loan, there will be no prospect of signing him.

There is a good chance we develop a game without wingers as such , and use an option of mobility from what are essentially mid fielders. I thought that was happening in the US friendlies and definitely against Lyon. Why wouldn’t we if we don’t have outstanding wingers right now , with not enough money to get one , and only having one when he is not injured. ?

Not quite a ‘done deal’ it would appear

Sorry, what talks with Olise? The club haven't been contacted(that we know of) Chelsea haven't ask to speak to the player(that we know of), Who's the guy doing the X post, never heard of him. IMO, more click-bait bollox.

How would you know any of that? Roy’s even said it’s going to a challenge to keep him. Clearly there’s something going on with Olise, you don’t need to be an ITK to see that

Gallagher CHO and loan Hall for Olise or just tell them to F off. Sick to death if these moneybag clubs trying to run roughshod. Shame players don’t think more about actually playing the game rather than the money ( which comes anyway)
