If there was a quiet agreement reached via diplomacy that all the major powers accepted that destroying any nuclear facilities was necessary then perhaps forensic strikes could be done, with advanced warnings to ensure minimum civilian casualties and collateral damage, with explanation to the people that this was ultimately in their best interests too.

I don’t think anyone here is going to disagree with these sentiments. I certainly don’t. It’s the way to achieve them that is in dispute. Taking actions that ultimately make things worse doesn’t make sense, something that all the western world, other than the Israeli leadership, seems in agreement about. The biggest problem I see is how to restrain two religious based regimes both fighting for their own survival, quite possibly trying to avoid jail or even losing their lives.

Politics affecting other things needs to be replaced by pragmatism over shared objectives. Which can only be achieved by diplomacy.
