Having read the judgement I didn’t detect any animosity. I detected resoluteness which indicated to me that she knew something and was determined to see it out in public. I would not be surprised if probing is still going on in the hope that a stone can be turned which reveals admissible evidence.

I don’t know anymore than anyone else what her motivation was but if she was aware of a newspaper being legally advised not to publish she must have thought it very important to go ahead in another way. She cannot be stupid and unaware of the risks involved and the probable outcome.

They know full well that unless they have verifiable evidence either their editor or the lawyers won’t sign off on the story. Bring stories like that to the editor and you won’t have a job for long. No one pays journalists for fiction.
