Imagine a scenario where a press conference is called for 4pm at Beckenham this afternoon.
A grim faced Parish is sitting there flanked by Hodgson and Freedman.
Parish announces that Hodgson has tendered his resignation…..but the club has refused it and Hodgson has instead signed a 2 year extension.
This message board collapses as a result.

I don't understand how a person's position can be considered untenable but they can carry on because there's no replacement.

Sounds about right to me. Nobody wants it because we've done it too late - after the January window has closed.

If finding a replacement is so difficult couldn't Freedman step in temporarily? Roy is effectively a lame duck so surely DF couldn't be any worse? Is there anyone else within the club that could step in?

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Added bonus being Dougie was instrumental in all our signings

The whole relationship between owners, management and Freedman for that matter is broken. The way they rely on Roy and the way he treats the signings they make is embarrassing.

If this is all true surely Roy has to go? It would completely undermine his position with the players and staff if they knew he was only there because the club couldn't find anyone else. I think that's it though and we'll get an announcement fairly soon. I said yesterday I expected him to be gone within 48 hours and Cooper taking over by the weekend. I still think that will happen. If it doesn't surely the board have to say something as this is getting ridiculous. Do you back him or not. Draw a line under this for everyone's sake.

My guess would be that the owners do not want to give Roy the very undignified 'you're fired' in a manner we might have seen before and certainly have in football. They may be wanting to play it in a more dignified manner of replacing him without chucking him out the back door.

I don't think Freedman is the worst suggestion but it wouldn't fill me with confidence really. As others have stated he does have the link to the signings and I'm very much aligned with the opinion that the relationship between ownership, signings and the manager looked bad on paper to begin with but has even more so on the pitch. Roy is/was perhaps the most anomalous and easily replaced element there.

And you can Spiderman, rightly or wrongly though, I will join you in that sentiment.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Probably wishful thinking on someone's part.

Perhaps our learned friend who provides all the transfer news, and who is pilloried, has released an 'Exclusive'.
