Communities do though come together. Not everyone in the community perhaps but enough to make a difference. I have seen it myself and, in a very modest way, have helped by donating furniture and clothing. What are food banks generally other than community efforts?

Food banks are nothing but a big party. Who wouldn't want to go? Communities don't come together when they're isolated and factionalised. We're dealing with "communities" who speak different languages and often have historical grievances with each other.

I think you will find that people eat less red meat than they used to. They have always eaten fried food. Thanks for the science lesson, but this is one subject that I very likely know more about than you do. The only thing that has changed in recent history is the availability of take away food and a reduction in energy expenditure. One has to consider portion size and the larger amount of calories per serving that fast food contains relative to domestic meals. More people have sedentary lifestyles, which require less walking around and other physical effort.

Thanks for the science lesson, but this is one subject that I very likely know more about than you do.
