Well, we're pretty evenly split over here. Unfortunately (from my perspective anyway) the cult of personality surrounding George W. Bush prevailed at the polls this time 'round. Seems that the many anti-gay-marriage ballot initiatives in several of the key states brought out the white evangelical Christians in droves. And there you have it.

Look I am an Indian and definitely benefit by pro outsourcing Republicans, but I think the best thing for us is also that Americas grows strong - fundamentally.

I think the basic blame has to go democrats for being unable to field a strong candidate. Kerry could not topple a shorter, job loser, war monger president. What more of factors do you want? I see the blame put on person who financed Kerry in his amazing trail in Democratic elections. By brief look I found combative Edwards better fantasy drug for Americans.

Bush won, still I will try to put things in perspective on the issues on which choice was made.

a. Moral issues
Where does that come in from. We know both Kerry and Bush are family man unlikely to repeat Clinton. Same views on gay marriage, though not on abortion. Now how about profiting through war, invading forests for oil, preventing competetive medicines from reaching people, fuminating the world as moral issues?

b. War on terrorism?
9/11 was forced on hand. Any President would have stood up. He has just removed a bulwark against Islamic fundamentalism in Mid-East. Billions have been wasted. There has been no progress in Mid-East. Every vote has been cast for Israel in UN. Is America is now less hated in mid-east?
Plus part is strong action in Afganistan. Maybe Kerry may not have taken that action.

c. Who do you trust ?
Fancy dresser ,stubborn, good 5 m race athlete or a long face, unsure person ?
From my view point this is the last question Bush should have been asking. An illegal war in Iraq and no remorse over job loss and he be trusted?

Look at the scary conclusions from this election. The more the terrorist attacks, more the wars whom will you trusts. Because you trust him with wars that is what he is going to do for you. Immediately after his election Oil went up and that nasueated me. Here in India as in many other developing countries we enjoying the boom due to outsourcing. Oil surchage is the tax that is levied on our growth. And look who is benefitting. Drugs company stocks went up. So now you undertand why health care costs are so high?

The biggest problem I see with Bush is that he seems so predictable that it seems he is strictly following orders of the oil lobby. If he is stands up to anyone it is the Green Peace and those not participating in his war. He hasn't stood up to deficit, hasn't stood up to drug companies and so on. The only thing that has ever held him back is re-election. Now what will restrain him?

This is a mandate for war mongering as he would see.In his imagination, Americans have told him, George, go on crashing, burning and fuminating the world till that b***d Osama dies. Then our kids will be safer.
Seriously I don't think there is potential for new war or trouble, but then it would depend on US economy.

I've been laid off three times under his administration due to company closings. We went from having a surplus budget to a deficit budget I'm a LOT worse off today then I was four years ago. I'm really depressed that 51% of my countrymen reelected this guy...

Economically, environmentally, socially, globally, morally and politically, Bush has f***ed America and the world, and now he's going to make it worse. How much worse does it need to get for those who voted for him pull their collective head out of their arse and take a look around. By then, it may be too late.

You're probably right Stef. I respect Tim's post more than anyone else on the subject. But you can't take one man's opinion as the whole of America's!

Why did so many people vote for Bush if he's THAT bad. I just don't get it...

Kerry may not be as radical as Bush but if he was voted in, I'm pretty sure the anti-American posters on here would be slating him and his policies at some point in the future. The people who oppose capitalism and refuse to to eat in McDonald's but wear Nike trainers and Levi jeans.
