Having read the posts on this thread and most of the ones on the 'temporarily suspended' thread' I am curious as to why HMHS chose to use the name Retardaliator - I can understand the 'aliator' part as it was originally a dig at Pete and a sensationalist way of bringing a valid point about racism into the open, but the word 'Retard' - which dare I say it is offensive to a lot of people with disabilities as the N word is to Black people. The following is a site to reflect the lives of disabled people in Britain. [Link] and includes a survey of what word people with or without disabilities find most offensive. The reason for the query is HMHS has some very strong views on Racism but has completely overlooked the feelings of disabled people or is that not PC enough? Sorry, this is not intended to cause offence, but posted merely out of curiousity!

As someone who has disabilites, I did feel a pang of irritation at the use of the word. In the context of what HMHS was trying to draw attention to, it worked. But it wasn't very appropriate. An interesting link, I'll always come over aggressive if people call me spastic or retard, both of which I have been called before, as well as blind and deaf. It reflects a not-so-well documented ignorance among the general population. Still, I haven't barracked him about it becuase I was concentrating on the issue at stake, in retrospect maybe I should have done. A one and a two...

I myself think that religion can be the bane of mankind, as it creates an illusion of comfort and allows people to claim that they are not responsible for their actions. Also has created a divided and dehumanised world, where everywone is making 'moral stands' and drawing barriers.

robbo - that 'geezer' is not wrong - but he isn't right either. islam, as with most religions, has been responsible for a lot of good as well as a lot of bad.

i know i'm pointing out the obvious - but it seems to be the obvious that Robbo has missed here.
