"Oh God Help Us.... We'll be in the economic slow lane, whilst the Eurozone will be thriving and leaving us behind.... we cannot go it alone... financial madness to persevere with Sterling whilst the Germans etc adopt the Euro... Blah Blah"

Tell us what happened Maple?

I'll tell you what happened, our economy positively boomed against the pathetic Eurozone economy. Greece, Spain, Italy, Ireland nearly went bankrupt.

Your children should thank me, not despise me.

They will now possibly be able to afford to buy a house in the future (like I did as a 23 tear old in 1977).

Under the EU, pressure on demand for housing by unfettered immigration has caused house prices to spiral upwards out of control.

Under the EU your children would never be able to buy a house.

I voted leave for my family's children, nothing more nothing less.

I didn't expect to make money from Brexit, but due to my education I am savvy and quick witted and can make the most out of the cards dealt to me.

Stop whingeing, start living.

And stop frightening your kids you bully.

It is my kids that are frightening me Hoof, I don't think you are keeping up. I am listening to them, it's a shame more people don't do that.

Lucky old you, you bought a house when is was worth 1/21st of the current value. You won't find many 23 year olds now that will be able to buy a house, and fewer in the future.

You seem to imply that EU immigration is the major driver for house price inflation which of course is completely wrong. Migration is to blame but that is complex. London's economic growth has been greater than the rest of the country, reductionism won't cut it with me although of course I am only a student and not a master.

Why would you take advice from a 17 year old?

As a father you make the best decisions you can for your kids. When 40 million people have to make that decision then you have to accept the majority veiw.

Had the margin between leave and remain votes been wider I think people would have taken it with better grace.

It's a shame that some leavers and remainers could have been more magnanimous.

As it is I think we need to wait a few more days before people calm down a bit.

Youre right of course else what is the point of the vote to begin with. lets not forget though that when the vote looked not to be going his way Mr Farage was already talking of a possible second referendum if the result was close, so its a quite natural response when people narrowly miss out of getting their own way.

I have three children. I take advice from them on a daily basis. I have more Degrees than them and more experience, they also listen to me.

I am not Victorian, you may be.

I do not have to accept the majority view, I may have to abide by it. I will continue to fail to accept that the view was made with a full understanding of the consequences.

I will do all I can to limit the damage this decision has created/will increasingly create.

No you don't. Accept what you can't change but never bow down to what you think is patently misguided and needs scrutiny.

As a father I made the best decision i could for my kids. Remain.

what do people make of Daniel Hannans softning on freedom of movement? i feel that people will read into it what they wish but it certainly doesnt rule out bringing in huge numbers of workers fro the eu. he appears keen to stay in the single market with all of the eu responsibilities that brings. not exactly what brexiters voted for. some are unhappy at his comments

What does that mean? That I must change my view to match to the majority? I don't blame most people for their views, I simply don't share them. I do think some people hold their views for selfish reasons however.
