Ledley Laughing incident for Wales

I've seen a still photo of Seamus Coleman immediately after the tackle, and he looks like he's grinning. Which he obviously wasn't.

It is an obviously horrific injury which anyone would be able to see. People who find that injury funny should have that view exposed. But I don't believe for one second he was. And people slating him on twitter etc should really just calm down. I am willing to bet he has received threats over it already. Which is why the entire world should just be banned from going on Twitter until they can demonstrate that they aren't in fact fcuking idiots.

Part of my flippancy is because I seriously doubt he thinks another professional getting his leg broken is funny. But also, I know his situation is different because he is in the public eye, but I think we're living in a world that is increasingly scrutinising the way everyone thinks and feels as if there is some kind of rigid process to be followed for every single nuance of life. People react differently to different things and nobody ought to have to explain an out of context snapshot of their life just because a very bored or sensitive dullard has chosen to stir some outrage up out of nothing.

Do any of you ACTUALLY believe Joe Ledley would have laughed about a fellow professional breaking his leg? Really.... honestly?
Scumbags like Roy Keane, Joey Barton and Vinny Jones may well be capable of it.... but not Joe Ledley.

I think "sensationalism" is the term that I'd use for the popular stuff on social media. It's not always negative ridiculousness. There's often people sharing things such as "Share this if you think Down's Syndrome kids are entitled to a nice life too" (for example) or something that just gets me thinking "Jesus, who is it out there that caused enough of a stir for that to have ever been in doubt?" I am quite sick of one of my friends constantly preaching on Facebook about how to think on subjects where I'd be utterly surprised if anyone he knows would have a conflicting opinion. I sometimes want to say to him "You don't need to send a meme to 100 people if one of your friends that has an opinion you aren't comfortable with. If you are that bothered by their opinion, delete the friend and stop pestering your other 99 friends with your gripe".

If it isn't picture of my mate with his kids or another mate on holiday showing off then Facebook is pretty much not worth it. And I'm not bothered about either of those so basically it's not worth it.* But yes sensationalism is the right term. And presumably 100 RT or 'mentions' is what some people need to validate their existence so they are willing to post "RT if you think our soldiers are heroes" or "RT if you think all asylum seekers are scroungers". *I take that back. Facebook is actually really helpful in reminding me when it is someone's birthday so I can wish them a happy birthday in the least intrusive (to me) and laziest way possible.
