I'm not sure Poland is a great example, given that large numbers of Polish people have emigrated in recent years: Emigration is Polands big problem - as it loses its best and brightest.

But Japan is very interesting example - That's not to say that it doesn't have a lot of social problems, its true that immigration isn't one of them. It does have some very strange 'culture appropriation' as a result - and it does have its problems - esp with racism (one of the few countries that really does have a racist term for white people - Gaijin - white devils).

Ironically though Japan really does have a lot of very varied subcultures.

Japan does have a lot of social problems.....It's very different culturally and not always in the most healthy way. It's a weird mixture of social conservationism and libertarianism.

I'm most definitely a fan....but there is still plenty I don't understand about Japan.

You guys just worsen the intellectual environment for everybody.

I see your fellow 'racism' travelers have seen the women's football manager resign just now.

Indeed,2 inquiries, 2 FA investigations (cleared by all of them),he feels he must resign. Even with the support of most of the team.
So she has won,and got 80k to go with it....nice work.

Not sure why he'd resign if he had been cleared by two investigations, or why they would accept his resignation.

If he's been cleared, the FA should really make a stand behind him. Unless of course something more damning has surfaced.

What are you not sure about? Surely you realise that the career of anyone merely accused of racism is ruined these days.

Well it is if you resign. I'd stand my ground, make them fire me, and then sue for wrongful dismissal pointing at the fact that the FA enquiries had cleared me.

By any stretch of imagination, if your employer has cleared you twice, and then sacks you, they're going to get f**ked in court.

Japan is a very conservative country. I don't think its so much libertarian as it seems, but rather it has rather codified certain cultural outlets. Libertarians are very much about the individual - and Japanese culture is very much not about indivduals, its about community and groups.

Its a different form of conservatism than we see here, because it accepts group cultures that we'd maybe find absurd or weird like Utaku, Cosplay culture - accepting often that interests that are kind of group culture are benefical (so rather than get loners and rebels without a cause, you tend to see structured organisational groups of loners, who celebrate both their difference from the norm, and their adherence to a group).

So even being a loner and weirdo, is acceptable, if you belong to a group of similar minded people - and it has its place.

Its worth noting though, that Japan has massive problems with organised crime - Both in politics, business and banking. The number of resignations for Yakuza connections in politics is staggering.

John Terry was found not guilty by a proper court yet the kangaroo court of the FA still found him guilty and banned him and fined him. If you are white and are accused of racism you've had it. The police are now told to believe any allegation of racism regardless of whether there is any evidence whatsoever.

Is that what gives you confidence to post allegations such as the above, regardless of whether there is any evidence whatsoever?

I disagree here. Firstly, criminal court isn't a proper court. Tribunal courts are legally just a binding, except that they do not pursue criminal cases - but legislative issues relating to specific areas (such as Regulative bodies).

People get cleared of crimes all the time, but then are successfully sued in court for damages - because the grounds of proof are different (beyond reasonable doubt vs balance of probabilities).

Additionally, in order to be convicted of a crime, you also have to fall into very specific definitions that define the crime, actus and mens rae. So you have to show a malicious intent for example.

So whilst, he was not guilty of a crime (beyond reasonable doubt), he was found to have broken FA regulations that he had signed up to - and as such enacted their own punitive actions - defined within the regulations relating to the FA.

Criminal court is a very different beast than civil law and civil courts, and the two have little cross over.

People get cleared of fraud, but still end up being successfully sued for the money - Not because they didn't do it, but because it could not be proven beyond reasonable doubt.

Er the job of the police is to gather evidence, regardless of whether they believe the allegation or not. If the police don't investigate an allegation, then they're remiss in their duty to the public.

So yes, if you are white, accused of racism, the police have an obligation to investigate, gather evidence. Its not for them to determine whether something is true or false.

Same applies if you accused a black person of racism.
