We played well against a top team....Liverpool fans are always noisy ...however, to get the ground really going you need to score a goal or two , HF or no HF ....
Has we scored an equaliser I think the ground would have been rocking and this conversation would not be happening

The HF and the drum go all game but the rest only join in when there’s possession, a good move, attack, tackle etc. Apart from that it’s not constant atmosphere at home and does deleting performance.

If the HF do come back in some form it would be great to have periods without the drum and great for them to join in with the other songs going round. Add that to some displays and flags and you'd have the perfect scenario.

Agree with this.

I don’t miss displays though. Atmosphere yes. Displays no.

What surprises me is how many people stand silent, Hf or no Hf, and they never will. There’s quite a few.

Well some of us have been there, done that and now just like to go and watch the match without singing or shouting. Doesn't mean we're not passionate about our team though!

Which leads back to why are they doing or bothering with this now? Apart from them being behind the goal I can’t see how much higher they can get the atmosphere until the new stand goes up, everyone shuffled around and you get a load of arfur singers back into the Holmesdale to add to the atmosphere.

id say it is now the day trippers area, i live in Ireland , born in croydon bred in addington, i try to get over as much as i can. i reserved my tickets for the brighton match and i usually get block H row 2-4 , i was told this time the only seats they have available now are at the front of block B or in the AW. the people sitting there could have been scoucers or the worst kind london scoucers .

I'm nearer the front of Block C, and I found the atmosphere to be okay. I think the majority of the atmosphere Monday night came from the back of Block B and Y/Z. I found it quite difficult where I was to encourage others to join in, which I was quite surprised about.

I think the weirdest thing about the atmosphere on Monday was the lack of it being constant. I felt like there were awkward gaps in between, and I feel like the HF were missed in this regard. When the going gets a bit tougher, or it's on a cold Tuesday against some s***e like Cardiff, that's when the lack of the HF will really be missed.

Dunno about Liverpool fans outsinging us, as I can never really hear the away fans from the Holmesdale due to the acoustics of the stadium.

I think the HF have been OTT in their reaction, but the fact is is that the club hung them out to dry when the ticket situation came to light. It was pre-agreed by the club, without consultation of anyone else, and when they realised they had cocked-up, they left it to the HF to take all the flak.

This post, is absolutely, categorically bang on. Hits the nail on the head in every regard.

I can't help but feel we've thrown away one of our key differentiators from other clubs, and thrown away a large part of our advantage by doing so.

Source?

My understanding was the club promised to look into the possibility of moving them. It wasn't possible (for reasons mentioned several times in this thread) which somehow resulted in a stand off/flout which has achieved nothing positive.

It's not just about moving people from their seats, it's the knock-on effect. If Block E was mainly standing then D & F would need to stand to see certain areas of the pitch. If D & F stand then C & G would need to stand to see certain areas of the pitch eventually leading to the entire Lower Holmesdale having to stand at times - just not workable. For years a blind eye has been turned to the fact that SP allows B to stand as it's both contained and (relatively) controlled & that wouldn't be the case if the change was made.

Expansion in the corners, waiting for safe standing areas or even the redevelopment are realistic options but it seems these are not acceptable to the HF.

It's a real shame because, whatever your thoughts on them, they will be missed.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!
