At one point it looked like Steven Reid was being primed for the job but he disappeared unfortunately.

What's Popovic doing now?

Seem to remember he was touted at one point in the past...seems to still be ripping it up in the A League..

For former players more likely Derry or Dougie, as both at the club already. Popovic would be a good call though. I'd also be happy with somebody doing well in the Championship to take up the reigns. You do worry about transfer kitty. Roy although clearly not happy with the current situation hasn't completely thrown his toys out of the pram. That's why we could be seeing him still here for next season.

If I was going on this quote from the BBC article below then Jose Bordalas from Getafe looks a good shout. Vicente was obtained from them, very solid defensively, no real stars but work well as a collective.

"Some 15 kilometres away from the city's iconic Puerta del Sol landmark is Getafe, a municipality probably best described as being to Madrid what Croydon is to London."

Was told today that Roy and CPFC have agreed a one year extension. Has anyone else heard?

If this is true then it's no real surprise, as I doubt Roy wants his last season in football to be such a damp squib. I just hope to the gods that if it is true he will finally be backed with some decent transfers, as I don't think he can be expected to squeeze much more out of this ageing tube of toothpaste.

I heard it on Friday and got absolutely hammered in the pub.

Giving Roy a 1 year extension and then backing him in the transfer market, where we clearly have a lot of chopping and changing to do makes no sense to me. So either we wont see much change over the summer recruitment wise or the next manager who comes in after Roy will be told you've got what you've got. This presents issues in itself. We've got a Manager who is clearly here for the short term but now we are going to back him.. mental. If we are future planning then employ someone as Manager to go along with the same vision fs

Exactly. Presumably we can look forward to another season of our ageing injury prone first team too.

I think that a 1 year extension is the best option at the moment...

We are looking at getting some fresh young blood in, as is apparent with our signings and nearly signings in January.
It seems the clubs hope is that RH can integrate them into the Squad safely, then pass on a squad which is in a much healthier state, and one that is more attractive to someone like Eddie Howe *not necessarily him*).

obviously this is reliant on us staying in this division and actually signing the right people in the summer.

In retrospect, the Window was indeed terrible, but if reports are to be believed, was two injuries(ferguson and Kouame) away from being a really good one. I'm tending towards these being bad luck that they fell through. But it's bad luck that we've somewhat forced on ourselves with our previous performances in the transfer market, meaning we cannot afford to take risks.
