When discussing the merits of Wilf (the subject matter of this thread), where the club have come from in years gone by - is irrelevant. It has no bearing on his performances, his ability, his value or his prospects.

He was much better today but one assist and a tap in from 3 yards doesn’t hide the fact he has been poor and underperforming on the whole for far too long and he is a shadow of the player he was 3 to 4 Seasons ago. His headed miss at 1-0 up was a shocker and could’ve cost us dear.

..you should know he doesn't head the ball, I saw it as being in the right place at the right time and as a brilliant opportunity but I wouldn't have expected him to score with it because of his dislike, he has been AWOL yes and that too is be expected because of his horrendous temperament and that sadly for him has been the main reason why no one has offered his asking price resulting in him being too good for us but not good enough to help the big six in winning competitions ..Zaha just cannot do concentration and consistency.

Playing up front this season doesn't seem to have done him too much harm. Some might dare to suggest good management. Hes had the ball in the net three more times and the goals chalked off for narrow offside.

Think he will get further goals playing in middle as for his heading done ok with his head in play off against Bright scum .

Last season the opposition were able to plan against his threat too easily because he was always on the left flank and they could double / triple up and force him back or wide.

Agree. The games he has turned up , he has done well. Definitely harder to mark.

What a joke, he was unplayable and won us the match. He’s having his most productive season yet and has had 2 bad games... one where we were dominated by the most expensive team in the country and you still have people moaning.

Not moaning Coulsdon, or joking...just pointing out facts.

He played much better yesterday and set one up and scored a tap in from 3 yards but let’s not forget this came only a week after potentially his worst ever performance for us and two weeks after a similarly ineffective one.

He is nothing like the player that won three consecutive Player of the Season awards a few years ago and last term was behind Ayew, Guaita & Cahill. There’s a reason why he’s still here and no-one wants to buy him.

He is a massive sulker, again not moaning, just stating a fact.

I agree with you about the heading, although it’s the goal he scored at the Amex in the play off S/F that still gives me hope that he may one day hit the target again with his swede

He scored a very good goal with his head against Brighton a few seasons ago at Selhurst from a very good Luka pass.
A real collector’s item for a number of reasons.
His heading hasn’t really improved , but his left foot has and his passing.
The line from a previous poster sums it up nicely for me; he’s just too good for us but not quite good enough for the elite Champions League clubs.

I actually feel sorry for you that you can't just appreciate a performance like the one Wilf put in yesterday.

We may not be the most exciting team to watch but he makes it worth it. Outstanding ability, I doubt if we'll ever see a player as good as him once he's gone.

Credit to Hodgson for recognising his potential as a forward. Sadly if he keeps scoring at the rate he is, he won't be with us for much longer.

If it was Sterling who played like Wilf yesterday the world would be raving. We are blessed to have him.
